Not much to hype

Here?  - perhaps not for at least a week.  I'm not sure I buy the longevity of that temperate GFS solution - it tends to rasp heights down everywhere, as a cumulative bias. By day 10, it is consummately the coolest guidance of any choice offered within the polar/Ferrel domain, and that leads all kinds of large scale systemic errors. .

But in the interim,  the heat in the west is a pretty extraordinary circumstance - it will exceed, in standard deviation, relative to our 4 to 5 day heat wave's daily scalar value, and in areal coverage, both.  It's amazing event.

I get it - imby is all that matter.. blah blah. Just sayn'

Hey, does anyone know if that old Death Valley record was still in dispute?   Last I knew, the world record hottest was some place Africa sub-saran ... but that one was in dispute - or was it the 2nd place record in Death Valley??

I'm noticing the 2-meter on the Euro approaching a buck-20 and thing is, that model tends to mature its numbers to the day of potential if anything and we're still beyond day four.  I'm wondering if some uniquely climate hot spots may sound the knell -

It’s nice to have a long spring. Summer waits until July.

Many a June is a lot less summery but honestly consistent summer typically waits until the solstice. Seasons in seasons.

Some years our springs are short though. This year, not the case.

True.  I’ve been in Chicago since a week before Memorial Day so my perception is skewed.  Warm but comfy dews here today-definite COC

Yea. It’s nice to get the 4 seasons. If only we can get winter to behave like one…we can achieve the weenie slam.

Some models are keeping the heaviest over VT. We could really use at least a half inch.

I think we are some of the driest since May 1st up this way.  Like 2-4” total since 5/1.  Tamarack may give us a run for our money though.

80/40… RH between 20-25% today.  I think the dryness is giving some feedback.  We seem to be higher than model temps but lower than model dews since the heater.

Poor tamarack seems to have missed everything for a decade. :(:stein:

Not quite, though our 1.79" since May 1 (0.96" came Memorial Dat weekend) has to be near dead last.  However, we also had a run of 5 out of 6 winters with 100"+ from 13-14 thru 18-19, and 16-17 featured 2 storms of 21", only the 2nd time I've experienced twin 20s - the other was 60-61 in NNJ.  They don't all miss.  :D:weenie:

Unquestionable coc tonight. Couldn't draw it up any better.

Love it.  We’ve spent 6+ hours now bouncing around 80-81F with dews near 40F.  Absolute perfection.  Gets to 80F around noon and then just marinades there until 7pm.

What a day to be alive.

I’m going to wear a hoodie with shorts out there for DIT this evening. Gone but not forgotten.

Dog cooled off today in the snow.  Last pile left out there.

The real disturbing thing is that brown shit-stain is all the mud and dirt on her coat that she’s rubbed off into the snow.  She gets into every mud pit on the way up and then on the way down I half stop here just to get her to clean herself off on the snow.  She’ll roll for a good 10 minutes until clean.
