December 8-10 Winter Storm Obs

Recommended Posts

This morning's spurt of snow didn't add to any totals here from what I could tell.  Airport reported 4" but here NNW of it I measured 2" of compacted slop on the truck bed yesterday afternoon after precip had pretty much stopped, so I'd say if going by actual snow board procedures it was around 2.5-3" storm accumulation, mostly sleet after the initial hour or so of heavy snow once changeover occured.

Pretty happy with radar presentation, seems to match some of the better models as far as QPF.

Congrats J and the rest of you guys, totally impressive storm and ULL bonus snows with a a hint of a Norlun are way cool ways to wrap up this epic storm for you guys. Now get out and enjoy it!

Back to sleet now in my area with some snow

I hope we don't switch over.  I sure would like to hold onto these rates for a little while.

It appears to be switching to sleet further west in Cary.  For those familiar with the area NC 55 & High House is sleet/snow mix while all snow around Academy & Chatham.
