powderfreak Posted November 3, 2018 Share Posted November 3, 2018 Looks like west slope spots have flashed over to snow, lots of 32-34F spots on Wunderground. Over 2.5" of rain for the past 48-72 hours now. Too bad it wasn't a bit colder...this set up in another few weeks could've been a quick 4-8" even to the lower elevations. They are on the west side a couple miles from the Stowe base and that added upslope cooling is giving them that extra couple degrees. Struggling to accumulate at the Stowe base area on east side while ripping on the other side of the hill at lower elevations. Crazy the difference in these marginal situations with the slight forced ascent causing extra 1-2C cooling and much lower snow levels on the west side compared to east side. Sort of like the NE flow into ORH hills in very marginal scenarios putting cake on Weenie ridge while everyone else rains, even at higher elevations further west. Sounds like a sh*tshow with cars stuck on some steep curves and a couple inches of greasy snow.
