What I mean is that we've already "wasted" a ton of QPF here in Durham. It's snowing, sure, but not an iota on roads/sidewalks/etc. Looking pretty silly for everyone to be at home.

Temps around freezing and snow during the daylight hours certainly aren't ideal for high impact on paved surfaces.  Still, higher rates should cover them eventually and it may cool some throughout the day, as well.

Is this talk of a pivot in jest, or was this part of the reason the RAP/HRR increased totals for the upstate? Without any Atlantic influence, I wouldn't think a pivot would be possible, no?

It's the upper levels that change the flow, not the oceans.

Snow is dumping right now in Kernersville, NC.  Temp 27*    Wind driven tiny flake fest, but they are adding up quick.

Yeah I'm in N High Point and surprised at how small the flakes have been. Still, closing in on 3" now no complaints here. Right on schedule for 6"+.

Snowing pretty decently here in south Durham. Cars are white and grass is whitening. Because of surface temps, it's not performing well and roads are sidewalks are just wet.

you complain to your wife when you're having sex, don't you?

Switched from heavy snow to a flizzard now.  Hoping to get those big flakes flying again soon

That means the column is cooling and you’re going to be more efficient

Dude it is hammering here right now!  We're going to blast past 3" and make a quick run at 4" by 10:30.

Sure is nice to not worry about sleet for once in my damn life.

Shhh don't say that! We've had 2-3 events in the last few years that were touted as "rain or snow definitely no sleet here" and then half my qpf was sleet.

Man it's been poring the snow; still is. Temp is at 32.3 so still a little above freezing. Need that to drop a couple more degrees. But it is really accumulating fast. The ground is totally white and even shaded areas of my driveway are getting white.

Moderate snow in RTP/Morrisville. Grass and cars turning white. Roads are wet. Are we expecting roads to get covered? I'm at work and really want to go home :( I'm not sure of the temperature

2" now south of uptown!

You should have had some awesome rates in that dark green band earlier!  Bout to go take a walk in the woods here later and jutblisten to the snow fall.
