Jan 3-4th Coastal Crusher OBS

Recommended Posts

NWS Rah: 7:15 PM update:  It appears that our worst-case scenario forecast from briefings earlier today & yesterday has materialized as we are getting 3+ inch snow reports from areas southwest of Raleigh. As such we have expanded our winter storm warning & increased snowfall totals #ncwx https://t.co/JddvmYLKJt

After all this, who would've thought western wake who was cut off on all the forecast maps would possibly be in a better position than me sitting on the wake/Johnson County line.

oh never mind...

We are getting that dreaded SN word.. ARE you "triggered" yet? ;) You beat that horse 3X over & then some...

WE told you, look & read the AFD's &  LISTEN to experienced folks here..

I even opined WE had a great set-up going on..

NOW  you wanna cry over not enough Moisture? really?!!

WE are in Wilm to see "traces" once every 5~7 years...  Consider yourself lucky too see what WE are getting..

If the dreaded "Carolina trough",  sets-up,, We'll be in for ALOT, as well as folks inland around that area.. (west to east).. A Meso scale thing..

Look everyone, Our COASTAL PEEPS!~

Just got home traversing from Raleigh to Burlington across hwy 64 and up hwy 87. Snow started right at the haw river on hwy 64 at 6pm, and snowed till now in Burlington where the backend is winding down. Most accumulation was 8 miles north of pittsboro and again just south and all the way through graham. .5" at most, roads very treacherous, people sliding all over. Check google traffic for Burlington/graham, a mini snowmageddon repeat.

Big over performer here in Randolph County. No model after the nam 12z yesterday had snow getting back here.

Tonight all roads, major highways are snowcovered. Just finally quit last 20 mins. Current temp 23 and skies are clearing out.
