Met Winter Banter

IMO the Banter Thread should be unpinned seems - kind of sad that it is the number 1 thread .

Question - you have to post stats /images even in the banter thread ?

Also I think it would be a good idea to have a thread where only METS can post - that might encourage more METS to participate on a regular basis and also educate the hobbyists.

The banter thread will remain pinned. There's so much banter in our subforum that it needs to be in a place where people can see it. This prevents our discussion threads from being clogged with garbage.

Is it still okay to have an opinion?

"if you post thoughts regarding the pattern, stats, etc...please back up those posts with the stats/images you are discussing, if at all possible. Being incorrect because youre still learning is perfectly normal. Being incorrect because you misrepresent data is unnacceptable"

They aren't kidding about next week, then even worse, it develops a super +EPO and -PNA by day 15 with a full latitude trough on the west coast...

Do you realize that these models have been flip flopping like a fish out of water? Why worry about day 15 when the pattern looks good after the 11-12 storm.

LOL... People relying on 15 day goofus to back up their thoughts. Nothing has changed NYC south will not do well this winter and if they do get any snow it will be from mid Feb thru mid March.

Another bold statement lol. Meanwhile, plenty of forecasts had NYC 30+ inches of snow.

Starting with April 1 we have had  just  58 below normal days or    58/280 or 21% of the time.   With current outlook for the next 16 days not looking that great at all, we are threatening to go  61/296 or still 21%, hardly a pattern change in my opinion.

Main players are rearranging themselves, changing intensities and such but still conspiring to make it above normal here.  Natural jet stream wavelength changes in conjunction with above might cause an accident to occur before the winter possibilities come to an end, say April 10, and give us a cold-snowy week along the line.

Relative to normal, only the first week of June and some of October meet this requirement.

Would be delighted if this could happen.
