Bob Chill
avoid 40N forums...CTBlizz is jackpotted lol- not even remotely worried. You could see the phase coming. gfs has it too just not the exact same time. IF it happens as advertised we'll do quite well. I'm pretty sure a surface low will get cranking further south and nice baroclinic zone with such cold air over land. It's a great run obviously. Bob Chill
It's a good stripe of .5 or so through the 95 corridor. 12:1 gets us 6" of Ji's 6-12".
cpasi
What does it show for IAD for qpf in that range?
Ltrain
It'll change for better or worse. Most likely the latter.
Bob Chill
Interestingly there's another setup on the heels. Vort diving down the rockies in front of another shot of arctic air and weak slp near the tx panhandle. It's a great run even though it stole some clippers from us
Bob Chill
What does it show for IAD for qpf in that range? .35-.40 or so. Heaviest stripe in dc-balt 95 corridor and east to the bay but details like that have little meaning.

I'm not going to get a ton of sleep over the next week or so. But I'm good with that. This stuff will always be fun even if it's weird and we have a knack of phailing. Bob Chill
I know I'm not supposed to but I can't resist this height anom map. The loop looks exactly like what HM was describing. PNA ridge retros and -epo goes ballistic and then curls around blocks everything up. Pretty sick stuff. We can only hope it verifies in some form or another. It would take some time to break down at high latitudes. -nao Feb?
Ltrain
Now if I posted that it would get taken down. I see other people post payed Euro stuff and it stays up. Maybe its because I'm new
Heisy
Half the fun of winter is tracking the potential storms. We have pretty much 100% confidence we will get some legit cold air, now we have to get a storm.
