No we are screwed for a while on the coast. NYC's longitude is helping them out.

understood. i'm more highlighting the discrepancy between the existing NWS forecast and what's happening. i think a more east, colder scenario, even compared to the 12Z NAM/GFS, is possible given these upstream reports, and that bodes well for boston metro. i still think we make warning criteria here in brookline.

we'll see. certainly will be a very interesting evening ahead!!

Guarantee most non-weenies aren't even paying attention - thousands of people will be heading out to Halloween parties in metro Boston later thinking it's rain going over to a little wet snow late as they heard on last nights news.

Indeed. My parents are even in the Boston area until 7 tonight. I told them it could be a hell of a drive home, but they weren't worried at all.

Even a weather weenie couldn't convince them not to go, heavy heavy disaster in route.
