  1. Past hour
  2. In Albany at a work meeting. Huge boom of thunder with the storms a half hour ago downtown.
  3. Same here in Queens, absolutely pouring the moment I got on the bus thank god. Pitch dark also
  4. Actually ended up with a decent little storm on the uws. Couple bolts and some torrential rain.
  5. It blows a cell through Southern Maryland on the "classic" La Plata track it seems too. I'm intrigued enough for tomorrow. We'll see.
  6. Not everyone wants to read about people loving hot weather. It's a weather forum. Deal with it.
  7. Crazy stuff around Kalamazoo, MI last night. Heartbreaking
  8. You can't say that because, unlike NOAA, you haven't checked for bias. As shown above there are big differences in 90F days from station to station. So its critical not to allow station selection or measurement bias to impact the results. You are making rookie mistakes by just averaging the station data without any attempts to remove bias. To detect climate change you need to remove measurement inconsistency; but instead, you are adding inconsistency be shifting station locations. Instead of criticizing NOAA you should be learning how to improve your results. As I said above you are beating a dead horse. One flawed analysis after the other. Meanwhile, as the data from your own house shows, our local climate steadily warms.
  9. 1 crack of thunder, enough to wake me up and remind me that I have to take the dog out. Thankfully the heavy rain only lasted for 10 minutes. All the leaves and green this morning...the flora thinks the seasons have changed at least
  10. enough rain to wash the pollen away but not much as models were correct in keeping heaviest north
  11. Move. Just move so we don't have to keep reading this.
  12. Looks like a decent line, does it stay together as it comes east?
  13. 0.22" of rain this AM from the thunderstorm...briefly lost power. Should see sun returning today and our warmest day for at least the next couple weeks as temps make a run at the 80's today. By contrast on Friday we will struggle to escape the 50's for high temps. Chester County records for today: High 98 degrees at Phoenixville (1930) / Low 29 degrees at both West Chester and Morgantown (1974) / Rain 2.90" Coatesville 2W (1992)

  15. The lightning activity in western CT looks better on the map than it appears to be "in person". Still, waking up to a thunderstorm is a nice touch...
  16. It's an overall decent setup but I didn't like how much dry air arrives in the wake of this morning stuff. Though it does look like there is some moistening later this afternoon. Also looked like a bit of a cap around 600-400mb. There is two round potential today...this morning stuff and then potential for a few strong storms to develop later this afternoon.
  17. Really nice thunderstorm earlier this am. Deep booming and clapping thunder and brilliant lightning
  18. .12, radar looked heavier than reality here.
  19. .....annnndd it's outta here. Birds chirping their heads off. 65F
  20. This is a about what I expect. General thunderstorms may be a few decent ones this morning along the warm front. And then this afternoon there could be a few strong surface based ones, especially south of the pike closer to the warm sector.
