  1. Past hour
  2. Heaviest rain of the day here now. One huge flash of lightning. Edit. Dumping!
  3. Tor warning in PG county just across the river from Mount Vernon. No wind here with the storm, same storm battering us with constant lightening…about 2 miles away
  4. Most intense lightening display of the year here. House shock so bad a picture frame fell off the wall…first time that has happened since the earthquake!
  5. I'd start Brandon Young in a 3 game series. If the pitching holds up and Basallo and Blaze pick up where they left off, O's could heat up at just the right time
  6. I was hoping low-level mesos from the shear could compensate here. Dir shear sfc-850 is excellent.
  7. I was just coming to post that…definitely one of the best storms here in quite some time. Lightning and thunder were incredible. 0.65” on my gauge and it’s wrapping up.
  8. Maybe we can do ok overnight. The WV MCS looks solid. Nocturnal sometimes makes a sig difference, at least for big rains.
  9. Today's Highs: LGA: 82 TEB: 82 ACY: 82 EWR: 81 ISP: 81 New Brnswck: 81 BLM: 81 JFK: 81 PHL: 80 NYC: 8 0 TTN: 78
  10. and Flood Watches. A bust here so far in terms of rainfall. I understand how @CAPE feels.
  11. And the RRFS that WW is constantly posting is the next generation? That fucking thing is terrible too.
  12. Clouds all day and storms coming from the due west pretty much always end this way. Heavy rain events come from the SE and south, not west. My gut was right today. This summer has been such a tease with all the watches and warnings.
  13. Lucked out here with this one .84" Most we've had in this immediate area for a while...
  14. No rain today here at the house, but chances look better tomorrow. I'm starting to see signs of the Eastern trough becoming active again through the end of Meteorological Summer. Fronts and lower dew points are looking pretty good to end the Month.
  15. Ended with 1.37 inches of rain throughout today. Watching an epic light show to the southeast of me from my deck. One of the best I’ve seen in years.
  16. Impressive how often there has been heavy rain wording in the AFDs with inch+ amounts in the forecast that literally yield nothing. All summer long. They must be just using AI or guessing because the globals are awful with resolving convection(not their forte) and all the mesos suck and are always all over the place. Today is a classic example. Need better hi-res models I guess. When they all depict different outcomes run to run something isn't working right. Too many forecast busts tell the story.
  17. Well this event sucked. Was it even supposed to rain today?
  18. extremely unlikely
  19. It raining steadily in Marysville again with this line. Thankfully the severe portion of it seems to have dissipated.
  20. Yet another turd here lol S MD and down towards Richmond looking pretty good.
  21. There's about 4 or 5 crappy teams gunning for the last wild card spot. One of them will be in the playoffs. Atleast briefly lol. Although I wouldn't feel to bad trotting out Bradish ,Rodgers and Baz in a best of 3 series. Problem is we wouldn't score any runs against the other team top of the rotation
  22. It all equals fail for the mid-Atlantic is what it means. The watches etc from the NWS are ridiculous and have been for a while now. This evening is a perfect example of why the general public take weather as a joke around here.
  23. https://goldensnowball.com/past-snow-seasons-champs/ This is a good resource for seeing how a season was for Lake Effect in upstate NY. 2015-16 was a bad snow year everywhere with Syracuse being the champ at 80” which is only 2/3 of its normal 120”
