  1. Past hour
  2. The Carolinas haven't had a good snow storm since 2018?
  3. Globals/RGEM overdid QPF. To me, NAM is the closest to being a “winner.”
  4. The lul lasted 6 minutes, now its heavy again. A foot is a 80% lock now across nyc.
  5. Got to test my forester in the snow and sleet and it handled like a champ. I had to go down the road to get some aerial shots to where I wasn't too close to the airport.
  6. Here in Carlisle at 10:00am...it is snowing moderately to heavily with flake size fluctuating as well. The temperature is 10.0 degrees with a dew point of 6.8 degrees. During the past hour I received and additional 0.5" of snow, bringing the storm total thus far to 5.00" The facebook post from the NWS was really good. They created a video showing the sleet progression. For me it showed all snow through at least 6:00pm. He also said that noon time around here will be a particularly heavy period.
  7. If you look at kdix mix line you can see that battle happening down there, back and forth
  8. Yeah man. FWIW, NAM had me at 3" for 10:00 am I'm at 6-7" and rippin. Nooner also gives me an extra hour till pingers take over. Looks like 1pm verbatim, but I'm hoping thats off as well. While I'm fine w/ the sleet (hate zr), I'm pulling for 10" snow prior. Here's to hopin
  9. I have no idea where or how to measure snow here in Lancaster county, Pa. Blowing snow is a problem. My deck is clean but I have 1ft + drifts.
  10. 4.25 new in central Morris County. Temp steady for the past hour at 9.4F. In a bit of a precip. lull relative to earlier. Still probably 0.75mi vis.
  11. when this 850 Frontogenisis entering south jersey passes over head will have very heavy snow then after it passes sleet mixes in
  12. About 6 here. Oldfield Point in North East, Md. still all snow and coming down hard
  13. It is possible, but many surfaces are already cold and depending how much snow/sleet you have, it could exacerbate the situation, some trees----like pines.
  14. It’s a crazy storm, pounding sleet and accumulating. Fast sledding! Really fun.
  15. I run a convenience store and the plow people that are coming in for coffee and stuff are saying the roads are the worst they've seen. It's gotta be because of the cold and the salts are just not gonna do the job and it really does and it's January 25 if it was February 25 it might be different
  16. Its become too windy here to get accurate readings in my front yard. We had 3 around 9.
  17. I've always wanted to be able to use my leaf blower to move snow! Wow. I guess this is what snow in single digits looks like!
  18. 12z Reggie cancels the sleet down here. Love to see it .
  19. Looks like mostly sleet here. Hardly any ice on the trees. Woke up at 5:30 this morning to get the dog out and it was coming down like crazy.
  20. What are the 700 since that's where some were talking about the warm nose.
  21. We are focusing on north to south but west to east is very important. If u look at the models the warm tongue moves northeast not due north. Same down there.
  22. Lovely ride home from Hartford. Left about 6:30, hit the snow around Bridgeport and then it was white knuckle time. Wasn’t surprised at the timing but rather the ferocity right out of the gate. There was no build up, just an immediate storm. Saw two accidents, one of them a guy flew by us doing at least 60/65mph, and a woman shitting herself while her tiny car was out of control. The look of her face was pure fear. Few cars spun around. Fun ride. Still got back in a little less than 3 hours. Hunkered in now.
  23. 32 here in Fountain City/Knoxville. Heavy rain washing away the mixed bag of donuts we received yesterday. Yard is just pure slop. The bigger story is the level of pouting from our two 90# dogs who don’t understand why they cant go outside and play. If they had thumbs, and could use a cell phone, I have no doubt we would have already been turned in to PETA/ASPCA .
