Drought breeds more drought. Yeah we had the somewhat elevated storm issue with the thunder. Sound waves love to bend down when the boundary layer is cooler. So the bottom line is that we got crappy sleep for a poor trade off with not enough rain. We have another chance tonight. Probably come with booms and bangs again. Might come with some straight wind. I'm not at all worried about rotation in East Tenn. However, I will have some sabre rattling in the Severe Thread for West in about an hour.

No snow at 6300 feet, but a good soaking rain to hopefully jump start the rest of the lawn.

1.75" of rain yesterday. What a soaker. Grass is greening up. Some warmer temps, and the trees will bud out. 6.38" for the month from the CoCoRahs site just NE of town. Very wet.

Central PA Spring 2026 Discussion/Obs Thread

Mine was way overdue but I also haven't been there in 12 months to mow and I had to use the second highest blade level on the push mower just to keep it from shutting off. It's going to need another touchup the next sunny day and from there it'll be regular maintenance. -
72/30 yesterday, back down to 30 this morning and cloudless. The best of mid-spring.

Definitely getting some overperformers which is great. Lets keep the rain train going into May.

What a glorious morning! Lots of lightening and thunder and a round of heavy rain around 5 o'clock this morning. Certainly the rain over performed and it was surely needed! -
Yeah, good point. In order to trigger MAGAt republicans, the one dimensional linear thought progression is a much more effective management tool hav to rite in littel wurds

Another, perhaps more significant, severe weather outbreak is on tap for much of north/northeast Texas today. Already a severe thunderstorm near Wichita Falls. https://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day1otlk.html Very large/giant hail possible, in addition to strong wind and a few tornadoes, especially this afternoon into this evening.

Good point. There might not have been that much of a recovery time, despite the evolving environment.

I just watched all the rain north of Atlanta disappear over my county, only to have it redevelop after my county. You seriously can't make this up. Lol. I'm guessing eventually it will rain? Who knows, maybe not

that's where strong blocking can help-keep it all south!

Suppression depression in May. Hate to see it. I’ll be more than happy to salvage a weekend though.
