  2. 34/30 at MVL Neighbor’s PWS is 33/32. Sub-freezing at SLK, HIE, BML.
  3. not really the air was dry and there was a northerly breeze..
  4. Today
  5. If the recurve is far enough south this storm could stay tropical longer, possibly threatening the Azores. I would rule out land impacts just yet
  6. You’re crazy man lol. I was scared witless that night..every few minutes, a fresh tree came down and you never knew where the next one was gonna land. The gusts had to be legitimately over 100 at its peak. It was like being in the middle of a screaming washing machine for many hours. And then there was the long cleanup which took weeks. Trust me torchy, it’s no good!

    Winter 2025-26

They’re out now? I didn’t see a single one last year, and heard similar from others. Actually, maybe the only one I found was dead. That would explain a lot.
  8. iirc it was on a sunday during the patriots game?
  9. I am not too worried yet. Its dry like this on average years during this time frame. Concerns: 1. Being a neutral year, we are in for a real cold and snowy winter which will definitely help the groundwater tables. See lots of northeaster's and the potential freezing rain/sleet events early in December. Expecting some nice rains by mid October as the warm pattern breaks down. A good tropical storm up the east coast can really help get us out this stubborn pattern. 2. The leaves are scorched brown and falling off. No color until we have temps in the 40's again and highs only in the low 60's. Do not see that happening until the second week of October folks. 3. I agree. We need some decent rain by Wednesday, otherwise burn bans will likely go into effect in the next week or so. The canopies are dry and the scorched leaves falling are not helping. 4. Even the tent caterpillars died off in this early warm spell before autumn. This is been the latest I have run the AC in a real long time as overnight lows struggle to get to the 50's
  10. Canadian wildfire smoke smell in the air from this air mass?
  11. Yeah honestly it could go wildly either way in the temp department. But one thing is almost certain around that time is the trend of increasingly powerful storms. I remember losing power for a week during the oct 2021 blowdown and our neighborhood looked like a war zone the next morning. That was no fun man, let me tell ya!
  12. Thank you wncsnow. I really appreciate it.
  13. Mid-Rocktober is the big change. Hopefully some early snows October 13-16th ! One of my best/fav events was an Oct. 15th? event in 2009, 2-3" accumulations in a very tiny portion of SNH above 400' Hudson/Windham.
  14. Go for it. You already know more than most of those pages
  15. Halloween most likely. Every year, like clockwork Indian summer reels it’s pretty head around that time, usually ahead of a powerful coastal storm with breezy sw winds. Search in your heart for you know it to be true!
  16. Anyone have any thoughts on when this pattern of pure stagnation finally breaks and the parade of deepening lows from the south and or west begins to take shape that typically defines the fall season? I’m thinking we see a similar repeat of last year but it’s just a hunch.
  17. Mostly clear is says yet it is raining out.
  18. Low of 61, high of 86. Dew points soared into the mid 70's today. Felt like summer once again.
  19. Sucks for New England, they're hurting bad.
  20. Highs: PHL: 89 ACY: 87 EWR: 86 BLM: 86 New Brnswck: 86 JFK: 86 TEB: 85 TTN: 85 ISP: 85 NYC: 84 LGA: 83
  21. Actually, the Walmart in Warrington, Warminster and Hatfield etc...all have signs now no overnight stay. Like usual, people took advantage and made it their home rather than one night thing and be on your way. Probably left trash behind as well. Pizza boxes, Old Milwaukee, Pabst cans etc. Something Eddie from the movie Vacation would do...
  22. Picked up 0.15 from a dying cell earlier. Thundered nicely for over a half hour which was nice to hear.
  23. If it holds, both JFK Airport and Newark will have had identical high and low temperatures today (86°-66°). The last time that happened was July 31. Fun fact: The record is 3 consecutive days (February 7-9, 2004).
