There's a squirrel imby chilling on the ground, in the shade, sort of like a dog does in the heat. Bit of an odd sight. Must not care about being eaten by a fox atm, the ground coolness is all. This must be getting a bit tough for some of the fur bearing wildlife. Reminds me to keep birdbaths full. 97/82

It's okay and my vent was in response to many and not just you. People think he has an agenda and I won't speak to that. I will say that I trust his data because I see it for myself when I'm driving through his area. The microclimate is absolutely real. And it's totally ridiculous when people hundreds of miles away attack him. They make themselves look silly because they're wrong. At least in regards to temps. -

You have made some good points. If I’m in the minority with my opinion- I stand corrected. I just personally find that discussion misplaced and really down in the weeds. I’m not a mod so I’ll stand down. Carry on. -
102/82 temp split today.

Maxed out at 100.2° which is good for the all time high on my station. I've only had it installed for two years, so not all that surprising. Officially hot though!
-
95*F still did manage to happen after all at the last possible moment (5pm obs). So that's 3 total for Detroit this heatwave..

When I lived in Arizona, 115+ was somewhat common in Phoenix, but the hottest temperature I've ever experienced was 128 in Bullhead City. That was just crazy hot, and pretty much too hot for even this summer loving warmanista. The heat radiating up from the asphalt parking lots almost literally burned my legs. -

It never got above 100 here. At least not yet. -
I had to eat my words pretty hard off the jump… I really thought we hadn’t hit 100 since 2012. Anyway, was out in the sun from 7-11am. Usually not a big deal, but that totally took me out. Just woke up from like a 3 hour recovery nap. Seriously draining.

Chester County borders Lancaster, which is included in our "poster coverage area." It's also closer to central PA than where a few others in our sub are from. (And they are welcome here as well) I don't understand why people get so upset over location. It's a weather forum. Interestingly, everything that Paul posts is 100% weather content. No reason at all why that shouldn't be welcome here. If this is the culture we're trying to create here, I seriously need to just post in the sports threads. This thread is becoming increasingly insufferable. -

Fog bank over the Lake with a chilly breeze across town. TBH, it has been a few yrs since I can remember so much fog, and chilly air at the 4th of July. Testament to the cooler, drier wx in May n June up here. June ended avg only because of hvy rains at the end of the month. It's those warmer rains that really help raise the water temp. It happens faster than just a warm Sun. Just like in winter, air temps alone don't just cool off the water, but the cold rain/snowfall mixing in the surface waters which includes LER/S precip.

Little heat burst now, back up to 99.5. This bbq is going to suck

While I despise this weather to my core, I think I can empathize with sun weenies now. I’m glad we didn’t get as crazy here….But I mean…. I’m curious to know what 120°F feels likes? Missed the bullseye. Fall line jackpot. Update: Yesterday, 6 hour max air temp. topped out at 97.2°F. Observation max for today is 96.8°F. Heat index was the same at 108°F. So, a tie. -
The NWS had predicted a high of 95.0 for me today. Right now I am 98.9!
-
probably, but even half of that would be great.

102 in my part of Brooklyn, 96, down from 98 at Central Park. It’s good to see that the ASOS forest is still effective. After being out more than I should have today, I no longer wholly believe that wisdom is wasted on the young. When I was foolishly outside pursuing heat stroke, today my wisdom was home staying cool. stay well Rob, as always …..
