  3. El Nino's really favor this area vs NYC-North. Since 1998, >50% of Winter's have been La Nina (RONI) (average should be 33.3%)
  4. Thanks for the list of locations!! Great spots that will help fill more of the gaps that need coverage. And LOL!! The fight is on!! I’ll send you both a PM with my phone number so we can communicate and drum something up. There’s more in the sub I want to meet too.
  5. Todays Euro weeklies for March 9-16: March 16-23 Today's 3-4 week CPC
  6. I just had piles left before the recent blizzard. Not sure what ISP reported on the ground before the storm. Probably 0 or T.
  7. Too nice out. Endorphins are firing. F snow.
  8. I'll be ready for striper fishing in the Delaware in a few weeks. No need for this stuff.
  9. It looks active at least. Then Canada should fill with very cold air again by mid month so I could see a late season snowstorm being possible with that type of pattern.
  10. Snow Anus of the East Coast. Atleast compared to average.
  11. What about Jan 26-27, 2015 there? You are pretty close to 495 so I thought that band that gave 30"+ from near or just south of ASH to Westford to ORH would have gotten you....but maybe you were just shy.
  12. I think we enjoyed last year more. More powdery and lots more sledding. This time it was tough, hard/fast sledding and my daughter got a bit scared. We did make a killer igloo though!
  13. Your kids finally got a significant snowfall! Did they enjoy it?
  14. Yeah, we had cold and no real torch this winter. Snowcover was great. And the atmosphere threw some HECS, but they both missed. We only needed one direct hit, and it would have changed the entire picture.
  15. Also, I don't believe DC, Baltimore and northern Virginia received at least 4 inches of snow
  16. March looking toasty on the Euro weeklies... pivotal-weather-eps_weeklies_mean-850t_stdanom_wkly-conus.mp4
  17. Looked and felt like a real winter, but definitely not enough snowfall.
  18. You are right it’s very strange that on a message board dedicated to Weather in a thread specifically debating what happened at a given location someone who was at that location and has pictures and documentation of the events that occurred there would show up to shed some light on what happened. That is very weird stuff.
  19. This is what I've been thinking too. But NE will, of course, be favored. Plus, we've had how many BN months in a row? Has to change at some point, but I'm not sure a fading Niña will do it.
  20. Before there was a National Weather Service to keep careful records, the function of recording local weather statistics was left in the hands of interested individuals. William Whitehead furnished meteorological information to the old Newark Daily Advertiser, which printed it in a column from 1843 to 1884. Later, William Wiener, principal of Central High School, assumed this function. Eventually the task was taken over by the Department of Agriculture. In 1924, the Weather Bureau began recording local data. By 1931, the federal government established a full-time agency for this purpose. But for a brief time, weather observations were made on the roof of Kresge's department store. Today, climatological data sheets provide detailed weather information for Newark and weather stations through the state. Copies can be found in the Newark Public Library's New Jersey Information Center as well as in federal document depository collections. In addition, clipping files are available in the New Jersey Information Center. The first half of the 20th century saw several extremely dangerous storms in 1914, 1917, 1937 and 1947. The year 1914 was characterized by a general paralysis of business, with the loss of hundreds of thousands of dollars and untold suffering. https://knowingnewark.npl.org/from-mere-dustings-to-blizzards-snow-has-affected-newark-history/#:~:text=Before there was a National,of dollars and untold suffering.
  21. Yeah in a lot of places it does, that was an extremely cold winter...it was a full degree colder than this winter was and this winter was no slouch...top 15 coldest at ORH airport since it went online 1948. I don't think it quite beats this year right near here though for snow cover. Though it's close....this year also beats that season for having a lot of days with pack >= 18".
  22. Nine out of the last ten years Eden has seen the temperature drop below 30° in April. 28.4° April 9, 2025 28.4° April 7, 2024 29.7° April 11, 2023 28.6° April 20, 2022 29.4° April 23, 2021 28.8° April 12, 2020 29.1° April 3, 2019 28.6° April 9, 2018 26.6° March 10, 2017 26.3° April 11, 2016 The latest date the temperature fell below freezing during this ten year period was May 11, 2020 when it dropped to 30.3°.
  23. Can’t give a winter grade when big dog season is upon us in MN. I love the active look even it means rain imby with a footer a few counties north.
  24. I think your being very generous with your grade lol. I give no higher than a D+. If no more snow happens I'll end up with 17" in my yard which is only about 60% of climo. 5 years and running for under 20" for the season. It's just been a brutal stretch for the western and Northern areas. Some people love Cold but without snow it's just meh to me. Outrageous heating bill the last 2 months lol.
