  1. Past hour
  2. That too but more so the bugs coming out of the woodwork and scaring the heck out of us when we least expect it! I don’t mind the toads though. I’ve started seeing a few of those tubby amphibians popping up during my evening walks with the dog. Those things don’t budge no matter what lol.
  3. Last year, we had a large area we were transitioning from 100% grass/weeds to rougly 75% shrubs and perennials and 25% grass. -Sheet mulched (Mow grass as low as possible. Lay overlapping cardboard, wet it, then top with compost, soil) the entire area late July last year. -Planted shrubs and perennials in the September. -Put down winter or "dormant" grass seed in late October. The grass seed just started sprouting a weeks ago. First time trying it, we'll see how it comes in. But essentially no weeds. I'm convinced sheet mulching is the most effective at turning grass/weeds into new plantable space, with minimal weed regrowth. In 6 warm seasons we've turned about 2/3 of the half acre lot from grass into plantable soil. Lot of work but better for us, pollinators, environment, and property value.
  4. 84F at Duluth. I think the bigger shocker is the record high for today was an insane 92F (see below). Many places way further south have never recorded such a high temperature this early in the year. The earliest 92F reading at Dayton, Ohio occurred on May 9, 1896. Since 1962, the earliest 92F reading was on May 28, 2012.
  5. well even though Macungie got zilcho rain from this storm, Bangor area in Northampton County got hail and an EF1 tornado that was on video. Tree tops sheared right off and twisted (not straight line wind damage) and no doubt that it was a tornado with hail from this very localized supercell -should have chased that one down. Mt holly storm damage specialists I am sure will out there to inspect tomorrow. https://www.wfmz.com/weather/it-took-out-almost-every-tree-on-my-property-tornado-touches-down-in-northampton-county/article_8f50d7e4-d6a2-4ae0-9709-dd23a3a73bc7.html#tncms-source=More-from-newsroom-(right-column)
  6. It will feel like we're in Florida with that heat and humidity? God, I felt so blessed by the past couple of days. My windows open, letting that naturally cool air in. I don't want it to go away.
  7. .40" today Four day total 2.80" I got real lucky
  8. And you know what follows once the sun finally comes out of hiding..
  9. Today
  10. Appreciate the work you put into these every year.
  11. It wasn't much...maybe got us to .75 over the 5 day Euro cut of the decade
  12. I don't know. Caps are going to have to dig deep. Not sure if they can generate enough offense.
  13. An unusual day today in that high temps in Michigan ranged from the 80s in the western U.P. to the 50s in southeast MI.
  14. I haven't posted in a while. I lost power for 4 days from the storm. Looking forward to some drier weather this weekend.
  15. Crazy the lack of rain southeast of me. I'm at 3.84" since Friday night.
  16. Caps winning this game would be a steal.
  17. The last two runs of the Euro Weeklies for the week 5/26-6/1 have backed way down on the chance for W Caribbean/gyre originating activity later threatening FL/SE US:
  18. Blocked shots in playoffs hockey is such an underrated stat.
  19. Carolina 5 posts hit tonight
  20. Orioles tied for 2nd worst record in the AL right now. I knew those 6th place world series betting odds preseason were too bullish.
  21. Really nice cold 500mb +NAO for the next 7 days. That's what I want to see more of through the late Spring/Summer to have more -EPO next Winter.
  22. You guys were on fire with blowing sand last year in short term drought status... and that didn't stop the dews. Not sure the rain matters. It seems to be a steam bath more often than not these summers.
