  1. Past hour
  2. With that much cold......suppression city. This ain't our first rodeo!
  3. Winter Weather Advisory for Lancaster & Lebanon counties extended to 6 pm this evening. Radar implies another coating to one inch of snow.
  4. That is a nice plume of moisture to our south over the eastern Carolina's. This storm could have been a real contender if there was some phasing involved and the low was closer in and tracked to near or just inside of the benchmark. As it is all that deep moisture is going to slide out to our south east. Just saying what could have been.
  5. That’s why I like them more for the extended and mid range. Granted that was an AI ens to begin with, but even with the “op” AI I’m still hesitant to use use them close in except for trends. Yeah, the coarseness tightens up as we get closer, but it hasn’t been to regular op gradients. But it’s a new tool and we’re all figuring out how to use it.
  6. Just what Upstate SC needs after Helene.
  7. 50 inches of snow and 50 days of snow cover. That's my A criteria for a Winter here.
  8. Lesson learned: don't REMOTELY trust the GFS. Nam and mesos lead the way in the idea of this starting as rain over here. I have my doubts we even switch over. Hope I'm proved wrong, and hopefully onto tracking the biggies next week. Sent from my Pixel 9 Pro XL using Tapatalk
  9. Some flakes mixing in with the light rain now here in southern Brooklyn
  10. Yea it depends on the rates, the correct thing is generally if it's 32 or warmer with light precip you won't get good accumulation in the five boroughs (especially the more densely populated parts). Heavy snow will stick anywhere except maybe midtown.
  11. I just checked NWS forecast for Central Park. 1-3" this afternoon. 1-3" this evening. So. Total forecast is 2-6". If the Park gets only 2", that was an accurate forecast.
  12. 1.8 new inches as of 1:00. Light snow continues. 0.4 inches in the last three hours. Snow rates have been light enough that it's now accumulating about as quickly as it compresses. No complaints though 6.6 inches so far this weekend, 25.2 for the season, 35th day of snow cover. Not much to complain about, I'll take this over one 25 inch storm that melts in a week like 2016 in city and coastal plain.
  13. Big flakes falling fast in Winston-Salem
  14. What’s wild is all 3 major globals pretty much agree
  15. Same here, been snowing since before dawn. It’s accumulating where I shovel but on the snow board, and yard, the snow just keeps getting denser. This is going to be a solid snowpack once the deep feeeze gets here.
  16. Agree. I sent way too much time model watching and hugging the model that showed snow. I need a break, but wait did you see GfS and CMC at 12z. lol
  17. " Heh, sorry boss, I took the wife to Key West for the long weekend. See ya Tuesday"
  18. Temp dropped to 41 now. 3 degrees in one hour.
  19. Honestly, the cold following that type of event on the 12z Euro would be rough, rough.
