    Yeah. Almost 20 inches of rain here between July/August. I can see this pattern/moisture plume continuing right into winter where BDR has another winter with more snow than BDL.

    The Canadian outlook for August verified way too cold for the US. Far too wet too. Worth keeping in mind for what it shows over the next few months. Fall months are often the hardest to predict anyway, particularly October, so not expecting much accuracy from these outlooks for a while. Colorado is +5F in areas expected to be -1F to -2F v. long-term averages as an example.

    I swam in Phoenix when it was 117. Not enjoyable at all. Water was hot, no shade, went back inside after 10 minutes.

    Xmas 2015 was great. Tanning the nape on green grass. Just like the ones I used to know.

    I think people complain mostly about the humidity not the temperatures per se. I distinctly remember a few people on here who said that they were surprised how enjoyable they found the dry low humidity heat of 2010 even though it was above 100 for July 4th weekend just like it was this year. That was the ideal summer 100 degrees with 20 percent humidity. I'm not surprised they enjoyed that weather either, dry heat is VERY therapeutic to the human body. That was my favorite summer of all time. Followed by the 1993 summer which had the greatest heatwave I've ever experienced.

    1955 was very similar to 1999 both were very hot summers. Part of the well known 11 year cycle.

    There are also such things as pools and beaches. I have an inground pool here myself but only used it for a few days this summer because it's rained so much. Today was a really good day though, around 75 here and mostly sunny and a nice cool breeze at 1600 feet. Looks like a clear night coming up, why couldn't we have had this last night for the eclipse instead of those nuisance thunderstorms? It didn't clear out here last night until after 1:30. I really dislike thunder and lightning I'm always worried it will hit me especially up here. I had to hire a logging company to clear all the tall trees within 100 feet of this house back in 2018 when a microburst happened and I had to replace part of the roof and the railing on the bedroom balcony.

    There is no guarantee that an "EL Nino" will ever "kick in" I have on more than one occasion said that El Nino guarantees nothing. 1965 had a +2.1 Nino. November and December of 1965 were very dry for D.C.. Less than a half inch for each month. There are far too many who think with a strong Nino, we will soon turn wet. That is simply not guaranteed. It is likely, but not guaranteed.

    Up here at DCL it's 71F and zero humidity with a good breeze, basically a perfect day. We moved about 4000lbs of rock. Kinda weird up here, all the cherry trees have lost about half of their leaves already. Just dried up and fell off. Can't really blame it on drought, I guess it's just getting late I the season here.

    Papers by people who have an agenda or financed by those in a position to profit? Idk, just asking. I find it hard to believe anything I read when comes to any issue that's been politicized. And even when results are true, mundane results can be hyped or sensationalized to create a false impression of importance/urgency. Like making a big deal about the rising of a few tenths of a degree in a very small portion of the Pacific off S. America when the record was 29 years ago. I mean if GW was so urgent, it wouldn't have taken 29 years to beat the record by a few tenths of a degree. That doesn't strike me as a "rapidly shifting climate."
