  1. Past hour
  2. Remember, as a weather weenie, the most important thing you can do is to not talk to people about this at all, or as little as possible. "But they know I'm love weather," you might say! If they ask, you don't have to lie, you can look grumpy and say "Well, you saw what happened with the last one, didn't you??" Yes, I know how that makes me sound and yes I am that superstitious about snow. There is some method to this. East TN is a hard place to forecast for and as we saw, you do not want to be in the bullseye 4-5 days out. Using the Holston deflection method, it is acceptable to say to loved ones and friends when they ask "Is is going to snow?" "Yeah........... in North Carolina and Virginia." And to make this less weird, here are some gifs:
  3. I need the mother of god meme for this. What an insanely Tight cluster! And that’s at 5.5 days!!!
  4. I am calling it 8" - 5" of snow and 3"... sleet rock. A loader cleared my culdesac at 5am and think I have enough sizeable sleet blocks dumped in my hard to make an igloo for the tyke.
  5. Ended up with 12.1" here with wild drifts to boot. Temp 17.2. 30.5" on the season. On to the next one!
  6. Let’s get Holston to put together one of those trend gif’s at 500 on the euro. You can definitely see it trending further west and deeper……. But looking at 500 there’s only so much room to go even further west
  7. Renowned Meteorologist Judson Jones chimes in.
  8. Continuing off of @Terpeast's trend GIF from yesterday:
  9. Could this back too far west and become an app runner lol? What are all the different ways it could screw us?
  10. I don’t think I have double digits yet, but we were always QPF challenged on models. At least it finally went above 10°
  11. Magnolia Delaware 23F Pressure 29.66 Winds 0, starting to blow and those trees may come down. Some big snow flurry flakes. Damage from the freezing rain.
  12. I was about to post that the ridge axis out west suggests this would be a coast scraper ( @CAPE always gets a Nina Rehobeth beach storm). But these last couple runs have been inching that back giving this shortwave JUST enough room.
  13. GFS was a miss east but was a step in the right direction at H5
  14. 33F and sounds like light rain outside. Gonna see what the sun and temps do before I bust out the metal shovel later today.. may not even have to to that!
  15. Anyone nothing the radar? Congrats eastern shore?
  16. A bit breezy with light, yet steady flurries here. Eyeballing around 18-20", but may be a little higher. There's a LOT of drifting. Glad it's supposed to get into the 20s today to clear out. Great storm, aside from some mild frustration about inefficient growth.
  17. Eh. It did pretty well. Took an extra 12-24hr to snap in, but had the right general idea not long after.
  18. I have a very dense 16" at the stake this morning.
  19. 6z Euro & 6z Euro AI for this coming weekend. Might be time to buckle up again…!
