Happened again yesterday. A very heavy shower a mile or two away and nothing here. Today a storm has popped up a couple miles north of me. Loud thunder but unlikely to rain it appears.

12z NAM had some nice storms up my way 6-8pm I believe. Was hoping they’d come in sooner and cancel softball. I’m tired of playing in the humidity

Storms veering all around stephens city again today. 90 minutes of thunder so far. Not a drop of rain.

Idk if all of that can be assumed from that data.. too far apart geographically for those temperature deltas to be attributable to ONLY the sensor accuracy and/or local environment effects. The weather in Baltimore (MD Science Center) and DC could be very different (or anywhere else for that matter). Especially in a month where backdoor fronts can easily cause a 30 degree temperature delta between NoVA and the M/D line. You need to be looking at other stations within like 5 miles of DCA to make that comparison mean much

Definitely living up to its billing as the swamp. I was shocked with widespread 100-110F heat indices, that there is not even a heat advisory. I think most places in the US would melt in those conditions. Yikes.

The naming of those two storms probably would not have happened in the past and the further in the past you go the less likely they would have been named. This is why comparing the amount of storms in todays world with past history, is flawed.
