I knew it's been dry in the last few years but dang...in LWX's disco, they mention IAD is down 33" since 2021. It's been absolutely forever since the whole forum gets a soaker. Looks like we'll get something beneficial altho the bullseye is well north.

April 2025 continued the warmth, coming in as the 6th warmest April in DC history, with an average temperature of 61.7 at DCA, exceeded only by 2017 (63.8), 2019 (62.4), 1981 and 2023 (62.1), and 1994 (62.0). During last year's recordbreaking warm year in DC, April averaged 60.5 at DCA. However, January-April 2025 at DCA was below last year, at 47.8 vs 49.1. The warmest January-April in DC history was 50.1 at DCA in 2012.

Low of 50. Modeling all coming around to the Euro's idea of a days long period of rain and clouds induced by a hovering ULL next week. Would be great for the grass, ground, trees, and most importantly, shrubbery.

April was not a particularly exciting or active month here, yet when you think about it....Detroit had temps range from the low 20s to the mid 80s, there was accumulating snow, and parts of the area saw a tornado. The month started completely dormant and winter-like and ended with flowers and leafing out trees.

I wish I would have posted yesterday's map for comparison...suffice to say, this escalated quickly:

I celebrated entering the month of May by installing the living room and bedroom AC's last night. It feels great to install early, Kevin is such a phenomenal role model. Leaves blossoming, ACs in the window, sweatiness when you're outside...it's the greatest time of the year and we've made it.

West and north is worst this weekend into next week. East is stein until Tuesday or so although a few showers can’t be ruled out. Could be showers and a few tstms tonight after midnight.

yeah it seems like Mon-Wed is the real wet period but who knows with a cutoff low where it actually ends up.

That's a good amount of rain if it verifies. I just wish it wasn't going to take 5-6 consecutive dark and dreary days to get it.

Dan Zarrow thinks there is still a shot we avoid the heavy rains as the system shifts further offshore. Hope he is right. No one wants gloom and days and days of rain

This Spring has felt like the first "normal" Spring in a long time. Yes it's been a little wetter in some areas but at least its not gone from cold to broiler in a week. It seems like the past few years we almost skipped Spring and went straight into summer. This Spring reminds me of the Springs of my youth in Indiana so far. Now the "Springs" of my youth in Apple Valley CA, thats a different story lol.

0.31" here overnight, maybe a bit better than expected. I was able to fill my rain barrel before we head into the long dry stretch.
