Actually. I was praising him for his present/past post. Ironically he may have made a mistake on the post I quoted. I don't even know because I always assume he's correct. (99/100 he's correct) He's been top notch since I've joined Eastern/American forums... 15F/Sunny -
Wait, -11 in Morristown? Slept through that

How much of a lag are we expecting for results? Also, how long do the effects usually last?

I’m in southern Old Fort/McDowell in the crooked creek area. Seems like we’ve just been staying under a heavy band from the low for a bit over an hour now.

Should be more melting today in the sun since it will be 22.

Central PA Winter 25/26 Discussion and Obs
Itstrainingtime replied to MAG5035's topic in Upstate New York/Pennsylvania
My low was 6.6. As I mentioned yesterday morning, I was concerned about cloud over overnight. It's been a very cold week. Sub-freezing temps wall to wall. And yet despite the fresh snow cover from last Sunday's storm this week fell quite short of modeled low temps here. My temp never fell below 5 degrees. That's at least a double digit departure about what at least some models indicated. I think it was @CarlislePaWx who shared an image last week showing MDT getting down to -19 this morning. -

You do realize the storm is just getting started for your area?? Sure if you are in western GA it's over, but it's really only getting it's act together.

Ended up w/ about 6" of snow here in west Kingsport. Had to run an errand this morning - had 5" of snow prior to leaving. I81 is one lane(meaning two tire tracks for that one lane) and is sketchy at times, especially off amps and on ramps - deep snow. Nothing has been plowed yet. I26 is a mess as well. The main arteries in Kingsport have not been plowed, but some side roads have been. If you get under a snow band, visibility drops to about a quarter or eighth of a mile. Overall, roads are in pretty awful shape. 4WD, all wheel drive, or front wheel driver recommended. Temps are frigid. -

Even if we manage a few, and it ends up more than we typically have in a given storm, this is a lost opportunity. My kids are 10 and almost-8. I would love for them to have that one big one in the core of their childhood that they remember forever. And the chances are slipping away. In the grand scheme, it's a relatively small hardship. But it's still a bummer.

Really hoping things work out at least to some degree up that way for y'all. Just moved to Belmont a few months ago from Durham, and now surprised I'm better off here than there re snow (nowadays, at least, since this area has missed out a lot over the past 10 years).
