  1. Past hour
  2. Yeah, we tend to max out cold at 1500-3000ft around here. Though I’m not sure I remember one as shallow as this. 3,000ft can be the coldest on east slope but in this it’s much lower around 750-1,000ft.
  3. I know, its easy to be pessimistic about snow in the area but here’s my HH preview of our radar in a few weeks
  4. Listen...treat it as potential and nothing more. It's not real right now. Don't get too high on it--that's when the problems start on the emotional side of things.
  5. ...yesterday we got a notice from our 3-man highway department. The town has 2 sanding trucks. One broke down yesterday so the notice said to expect major delays in road treatment. Our plow is fine but you know my location. Only one steep way up and down. Wish me luck. I hope we can get above freezing for a few hours before the wind and cold come roaring back. Looks like we will have a glacier type landscape for awhile. Speare hospital, get ready. Lots of incoming slips and slides this week.
  6. Also wrong for Jay Peak, VT. They are at 238" for the season.
  7. Topped out at 38. Now 27. Slowly decreasing. GYX saying we bottom out around 26 and end up at 38 at sunset tomorrow. Still calling for 0.4" of freezing rain.
  8. Nice lil local chase. Tor warned cell northwest of Gilman, IL before getting wrapped in rain and touching down east of Clifton, IL Damage pics east of Clifton, IL
  9. Yesterday
  10. It was 48 today, supposed to be 63 tomorrow then the cold front.
  11. Transformer arcing with power on/off here. More ice to the point sturdy bush limbs way lower to the ground. APX I sure hope we can lose the ice before this
  12. Everyone goes back and forth too much. It’s easy to stay in the I don’t expect snow side till something actually changes. Been dry, crappy patterns, etc. snow will comes when it comes but I’m not getting excited about a so called good pattern week plus out.
  13. Based on NWS other records up to date that graphic is wrong-low for all the big climo sites.
  14. The mood swings in here really are something. Hard to keep up, I might need to double my martini dose.
  15. Great pictures! Glad you got there safely too.
  16. That's what im hoping. Just need to get snow back and then it can stay cold cold cold. We had snow on the ground from Nov 29 thru Dec 20. Now the ground has been bare a week and those high dews with tonight's storm will even nuke any remaining piles til the arctic front and snow squalls tmrw.
  17. Temp has only dropped to 29F here, won’t take much to get to 33F
  18. From my trip to Niagara Falls. Was excited to see what water vapor does in 21F weather! The trip up was white-knuckles on Friday. Temps got down to 18F north of Harrisburg, PA with sleet and freezing rain. It was relentless during some parts. Was thankful for the dry slot. I pulled off a few times to decide whether to just keep on or stay in a hotel. But kudos to the road crews. Roads covered but passable! Definitely not like those videos in the south with people sliding all over the place.
  19. When is the last time it snowed on New Year's here?
  20. There was no storm 14 and barring the unforeseen the above scoring table (ignore the potential scores in brackets) will be FINAL CONTEST SCORING. Congrats to Retrobuc with the highest score 97.5 closely followed by StormchaserChuck (97) and Cardinalland (96.5). Will do it all again in 2026, deus volente.
  21. Light freezing rain, with a couple snowflakes mixed in . 27.3°
