Mid-Rocktober is the big change. Hopefully some early snows October 13-16th ! One of my best/fav events was an Oct. 15th? event in 2009, 2-3" accumulations in a very tiny portion of SNH above 400' Hudson/Windham.

Halloween most likely. Every year, like clockwork Indian summer reels it’s pretty head around that time, usually ahead of a powerful coastal storm with breezy sw winds. Search in your heart for you know it to be true!

Anyone have any thoughts on when this pattern of pure stagnation finally breaks and the parade of deepening lows from the south and or west begins to take shape that typically defines the fall season? I’m thinking we see a similar repeat of last year but it’s just a hunch.

Low of 61, high of 86. Dew points soared into the mid 70's today. Felt like summer once again.

Actually, the Walmart in Warrington, Warminster and Hatfield etc...all have signs now no overnight stay. Like usual, people took advantage and made it their home rather than one night thing and be on your way. Probably left trash behind as well. Pizza boxes, Old Milwaukee, Pabst cans etc. Something Eddie from the movie Vacation would do... -
Picked up 0.15 from a dying cell earlier. Thundered nicely for over a half hour which was nice to hear.

If it holds, both JFK Airport and Newark will have had identical high and low temperatures today (86°-66°). The last time that happened was July 31. Fun fact: The record is 3 consecutive days (February 7-9, 2004). -
I saw an all orange one today - does that mean anything?
-
Down to 49.2° Had a leaning popple taken down today. He took this one down plus a smaller one and an old apple tree that was on its last legs for $500.

The shaded spots are difficult to secure, with the falling leaves there will be no shade truly trying times -
Your work is valuable and I like it

86.5 for a high today, not near the record high of 89 in 2010, but in the top 5.

Ugh. The early to mid next week system is now expected to pass well south of Iowa, so models have really dried up through ten days again, and that's after barely getting anything the last couple days. The ensemble averages have been too optimistic with their prediction of a wetter pattern. -
Your creation is awesome too!

Yeah ok. “Furnace” it is, but we’ve moved past the time of year when that word makes people go “wow it’s hot outside.” It now means “damn it’s nice outside.” The departures will be AN.
-
If you wanna call some U70s a furnace then ok I guess.

When normals are 68-72.. 78-80 is a furnace. No one is saying 85-90
