Getting a little light rain here, 65°F. -
At KSAV (airport), rainfall is already up to a whopping 7.9” for May 1-12! That’s over 6 times the normal for that period and more than double the normal for the full month. It is already up to 9th wettest May on record back to the 1870s and 2nd wettest to 1915 for the wettest May 1-12 on record. There remains lots of standing water in low spots, including the back portion of MBY. Other than the flooding in some low areas, this has been quite beneficial since the area had just been in a moderate drought per the monitor.

Mountains are gonna get NAM'MED with 12-13 inches of rain. Man, if THAT were all snow in January.........
-
If this were gonnabe snow, and you had very cold ground, you would be under some SERIOUS Winter Storm Warnings that would encompass most of the Mid Atlantic Region! You would be looking at at LEAST two feet of snow, perhaps three feet with lollies to four feet. You wouldn't even need MillvilleWx to write up the KLWX AFD's. George BM and I would do this puppy full justice. It would be one heck of a BONANZA for snow enthusiasts, most snow weenies would be flying all over. Many would be up for days and days and days tracking every evolution of the models. I'd be GLUED to this sub.

Perfect day today. 73 and blue bird skies. Got the first mow in at the new homestead

Highs today Downtown LA - 74 Long Beach - 70 LAX - 71 I will return home tomorrow. -
Up to 2.67 for the event with off and off heavy showers continuing
-
This is shaping up as a monumental disappointment. 11PM and still not a drop of rain. Radar looks awful.
-
Friday could also be a problem for areas further south into the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys. Shortwaves with zonal flow down there can be quite prolific.
-
Pretty solid EML showing in the NAM. Holographs are a little wonky (especially eastern fringe of risk area) but if the cap breaks, I could see a moderate risk level ceiling but that is a stout EML for this area. Large destructive hail is definitely in the cards though for anything that develops. LCLS are a tad high as well

It’s out here in the mountains. edit: hopefully it’s gone before graduation Thursday… edit2: imagine if this were snow…
-
Only 0.42" in the bucket today. Hoping fr more tonight.

That's why we like to go to Truckee, or Fraser CO in June and July. Wake up to frost and spike up low 80s and strong sun. Today was perfection as far as Spring goes.

Drought Buster From The Gulf?
Siberian-Snowcover-Myth replied to dailylurker's topic in Mid Atlantic
Down here near RIC…. Where’s this deluge we were supposed to be getting? Only a couple light showers today. Road pavement still dry. -
nothing here so far, those green areas on radar have been splitting west and east as they head north
-
His stick got stuck. Jesus.

President Trump signed an Executive Order mandating that all government agencies recognize the gulf as the Gulf of America. This was followed up with a Congressional law. As a result, Federal agencies must update this reference. Neither the private sector nor any foreign nation or individual are bound by the order.

Genuinely wondering why. Worried about their job, or are some all in on the agenda?

Let’s Go!!! Beautiful goal.

Been hoping you would chime in here and/or TW.

High of 87 today. There are now 3 large fires burning out of control in northern Minnesota. Super weird seeing photos of large wildfires before leaf out has taken place.
