Seems the Orioles are headed for another mediocre season. I think this is it for Elias--and when he's fired we're really gonna find out what was going on (other than roster failure particularly on the pitching side) that made these players constantly underachieve their talent. I mean how does a GM mess THAT up? Has it really been the league's worst usage of analytics...so bad that it messed up all the talent? A soft philosophy that took the fight out of players?

I feel like it's something beyond just the roster that has happened. And then the injuries...half of these are just bad luck. But others I'm starting to wonder. I mean you would think new ownership...followed by a new manager and increased spending...would improve things. But somehow we're still here, smh The Monday morning QB on what happened is gonna be interesting.

Long season, but sure looks like more of the same old crap. I was done with Elias a year ago. He doesnt know how to build a winning ML team, which is the actual job of a GM lol.

My in-laws yesterday: “this has been one of the coldest springs!”

Me: “actually it’s been one of the warmest springs so far, but yes, the last week has been cool.”

Them: “I can’t remember wearing a sweater so much in spring though!”

Me: “…”

Frogs in the slowly heating pot…

Yes we have had some hot days this spring... but I feel like me have more below average than above average days.

This is a new one for me

Not as common in that part of the world, but I put out several of them in my time in Midland. Usually a high desert type deal or Southwest US during monsoon. Been so dry in those parts and high winds carry the dirt and dust off the plains. Quite a setup to get that up there.

But we can actually measure and quantify this and see that’s not true?

Food for thought: No pitcher drafted by Elias has started in the majors as of yet. Gibson was a UDFA.

RAR is on a heater lately with their hop saturated ales. This one was released yesterday as part of their annual May the 4th release. At 12.1%, it packs a punch.

I need to find that. You would think around here more of their beers would be readily available, but mostly all I can find is the Nanticoke Nectar, which is mediocre to ok.

Unrelated to RAR....eden town brewing in denton just won silver for hazy ipa at the world beer cup in Philly. They beat out 88 of the 90 entries for the category.

Haven't been there yet. Hope to go on Sunday. Caroline's, which is an upscale restaurant in Denton, has a food truck there on weekends. Looking forward to getting some foodies in addition to the beer.

They’ve got a gravel bike event planned for the end of August that I hope to be prepared for.

Orioles roster construction is a mess. It's  Home runs or bust. It's been this way for a while.

This weekend shows just how bad this roster is when compared to a contender.

It's sucks we went through multiple 100 loss seasons for basically 1.5 seasons of contending baseball.

Most of their young core has been busts or not able to stay on the field.

And Elias's unwillingness to actually sign a proven  front end starter long term is frustrating.

Baz doesn't look like a 1 or 2 at this point.
