I think in world with so many moving parts in parallel, it should be just as possible to have MDW be fluid based upon whether god's being an asshole or not.  Oh, rain - fuck you! next weekend's MDW.   Rain again?  fuck you again...  keep on going until god stops being a fuckin asshole

Almost an hour since it started and driveway is barely wet; glad this isn’t snow!

Amazing how long it took to get into NE CT.  Force field indeed.  The radar has been fascinating to watch today.  Can't imagine the :weenie: melts there would be in here if this was snow.

Not complaining, wondering if the rain totals will be lower side or do we make up for it tonight into tomorrow?

Idc how anybody spins it but this was horrible weather to kick off the holiday weekend, and I was dry all day.

Being stuck in the mid-upper 50’s with overcast all day is not exactly “let’s go out” weather. And I was dry all day.

Tomorrow is worse

Saw a couple families sledding today.  Lugged the light plastic sleds up and were taking turns going sledding down the terrain park piles.  Others just sliding around on their shoes.  The remaining snow was an attraction for the holiday weekend.

Were they charged?  Or was it part of the hotel package?

This is just leftover snow.  You can hike all around and go wherever you want.  The Toll Road was open but that’s it.  There are no services at a closed ski area on leased state land.  You can go wander around but if something happens you need to call 911, not the ski area.  It’s considered backcountry.

These are just folks who saw snow and were drawn to it.

In other newZZZZZZZZ that Wxwiz will be :weep:.

So far this May, only 26 tornadoes have been confirmed, and w/ the pitiful pattern for the next week, not that many more should occur.  The record for the least amount of tornadoes in May in the U.S. since 1985 is 121 set in 2012.  So it appears we will break this record by far!

Here are the records for each month.  Sure, one can pick any year for a start time, but I chose 1985 since second half of the 80s had a significant spike down for total tornadoes, not unlike 2012-2016, so I am trying to include up/down cycles long-term w/o compromising total count caveats.

* Lowest U.S. tornado counts by month (since 1985):

January 1986/2003    0      July 2012         37
February 2010        1      August 2014       33
March 2015          11      September 2009     8
April 1987          20      October 1987       1
May 2012           121      November 2009      3

June 1988           63      December 2003      1

So where is this good news in the MSM?  This is a significant record.  But doesn't fit the "end of days" wx/climate narrative.  They are focused on speculation/conjecture instead of *facts*, like this:
https://www.ktvq.com/news/montana-ag-network/massive-northeast-montana-dust-storm-raises-fears-of-another-dust-bowl-era

What I find interesting is 7 months had their least on record 2009-15.  And this occurred w/ tornado detection/documentation being much better than decades prior.  So again, good news for society as a whole, but ignored.

Kind of figured that…but wasn’t completely sure.  Thanks Freak for the info. Beautiful area.
