CheeselandSkies
12Z HRRR and nest both became rather interesting for this evening from the state line into Chicagoland. Maybe what I thought might happen (in daylight) yesterday, will happen today.

It does look like the other two have some remaining capacity but if central cook gets smoked, we'll likely see the first combined sewer overflow situation in some time As an engineering project it has certainly been a major factor in the large improvements seen on our waterways but it has taken way too long coming online and the system capacity is only a fraction of what it needs to be for the size of the modern metro area and our modern wetter climate. The county and region really does need to start planning on next generation strategies for managing runoff from rains that seems to increasingly come in large 2"+ deluges Quote Since the first portions of the system were put in operation in 1981, TARP has captured over 1 trillion gallons of combined sewage pretty massive

That's actually most of an average yearly count for the state (50-54 depending on the source). Could get a few more Saturday per NAM; although bulk shear will be weak there is a 700mb shortwave trough with ample low-level turning and 0-3KM CAPE. Not entirely. There was a handful of tornado warnings north of Dayton with a confirmed one with damage reports near New Paris. Local news got some amazing pics/videos of well defined wall clouds and funnels.
