Damn Warm people creating new Spring threads too early! It's Winter damnit! We are not METS so continue winter! I'm glad it's in the 40s/drizzle and overcast and hope it continues! Hell, we only receive a solid 2-3 month of possible cold/cloudy/snowy winter weather per year so why are these idiots want to rush into Spring? June, July and August I understand but early March? F-that! Hope this spring is cold. miserable and damp!

Yeah, I think most of us understand with each passing day, our chances of accumulating snow decreases. But there's this notion going around that snow can't accumulate after March 1st. FOOK...I've had hail accumulate in July

GFS is hilarious, we get back door cold fronted this entire weekend now. First truly warm day isn't until Tuesday then we get backdoored again on Wednesday. Watch us not even hit 70 on this stretch now lol

In 2026, the first day of astronomical spring (vernal equinox) in the Northern Hemisphere is Friday, March 20, at 10:46 a.m. EDT.  I expect a ton of backdoor coldfronts, foggy days and miserbale cold/cloudy drizzle  rains in the next month.  A 70 degree day with sun will be a rarity until the pattern changes in late March. Would not be suprised to see overruning mixed precip events the next two weeks too with 3-6 wet snows.  We have not even had a dafodill snow event yet let alone a tulip/onion snow and posters are saying that winter is over. Yeah, you need a lot of cold air in place. In the years when we had big snowstorms post-March 15 (1956, 1958, 2018, etc.) there were many days with below average temperatures (mostly in the 40s and even 30s, as well as at least one snow event) leading up to it:

We just don't have that coming up this year. We have temps forecasted in the 60s and 70s. I have a feeling anyone holding out hope for more snow is going to end up disappointed.

Winters for me is around the days before Thanksgiving to well int March/early April. March April storms usually suck though... 

It was a B+ Winter at best so far. A+ it is not...., not even close to tell you the truth.

C winter at best. We didn’t get 80” of snow, it got above 50 that one day in January, and it rained today. It wasn’t the winter Jay’s Peak, VT experiences so it’s trash honestly.

We have picked up 0.18" of rain since midnight and 0.50" of rain over the last 3 days. We will see more rain later today and tonight before we dry out a bit tomorrow. A couple more showers Saturday as we start our long awaited warm up through much of next week. We could see highs near 70 degrees by Tuesday.

Nobody is arguing that warmth is coming nor arguing that it is definitely going to snow in March.

The disagreement is with your concrete and certain statements that "it will hit 70 in the first 7 days of March guaranteed" and "we will never see another snowflake this year, bank on it" type of one-liners. Youre a good poster when you back your stuff up with facts like you did here ^^

Amazing how much better you good folks did over your way compared to just to your west in Lancaster county. I'm sitting at 22.3" of snow/sleet for the season.

Was a pretty 95-centric winter, at least that’s how it seemed. I’m just northwest of Trenton and am sitting at ~44.5”, while my area’s average is 21. Hopefully next year continues the recent trend of better winters and everyone cashes in. Now bring on the 70s and 80s. Between the snow melt, rain, and warmth, we’re gonna be firing up those mowers in about a month.

March the worst month of the year is outdoing itself

The warmup ends up being pushed back four days and the cooldown late next week has moved up a day or two. I new the cold pattern would be relentless.
