We really need this rain and it will soak into the unfrozen ground this time. This really will help the drought situation and farmers fields and will bringing up the base flows in the streams. I would think days and days of slowly melting snow the ground must be drenched?

LVblizzard
Snowpack is officially gone. There’s a shady spot in my yard that still had some remnants left. Today’s rain washed that away. All that’s left now is the pile at the end of my driveway. Overall a very impressive duration, I had snow on the ground there for a month and a half straight.

Albedoman
now this video is something I never seen in my 67 years of living today. A F-2/3 tornado hitting Michigan in early March next to a body of water being completly frozen. Voyager
On 3/6/2026 at 4:22 PM, RedSky said: Forecast is two whole days to see the sun and feel the warmth before crappy weather returns Worst part of this for me was the forecast from last weekend had the warm-up starting on Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday being in the mid 50 to mid 60's. and Saturday solidly in the 60's. That didn't happen as we rotted (up here anyway) in the low 40's with a foggy drizzle all three days. So the warmth was delayed considerably. If only the cold push would be subsequently delayed. I feel cheated otherwise.

Somehow I doubt Vermont is seeing a heavy marine influence Vermont is more influenced by the mountains. But there has a been a wild temperature swing the last 12-18 hours. From 58 to 40 and now back up to 54 at 7 am. Still well above average for this time of year at that latitude, and quite a contrast from negative temperatures following the late January snowstorm.
