I see. Goodness gracious...that is sad and kind of infuriating. But...it's where we are and unfortunately we see the consequences playing out in real time.

What's going on is far worse than is being reported in the traditional media. Every day it's a struggle to just sustain and maintain the current status.

So will the gfs cave all in one run or does it slowly walk back our BECS?

Moved to banter, but my guess is we will get a mild cave while everything trends a little better before it pulls the rug.

Here's a fun game for people who are bored on here. Go on the main storm thread and count all the different ways people are saying the GFS is wrong. Do people not read other comments or do they just post their own thing like it's original? It's almost like when people say what the definition of insanity is like it's the first time it's ever been said. Lol!

They're just trying to convince themselves so that the fall doesn't hurt so much.

The terrible thing is it gets to the point where ya have to add "but it's wrong, so wrong" to everything to keep someone from quoting you and going "but you know it's wrong???" lmao.

100% true about that dumb insanity def.

I told a mom group chat that a random Facebook weather page was wrong when it posted the gfs, and we were not getting more than a few inches of snow. I will never hear the end of it if a more gfs type solution happens and we up here get 6

It was awesome. I stayed up to watch it…it came in like a wall right off the Atlantic. The models were on vacation.

I was up too. Was 3 doors down at a friends for the night. Mom calls to say come home to watch my sleeping sisters, dad was out of town.. she needed to run to the gas station. She got milk and all that after seeing the news. I went back to friends, where I stayed for 3 days haha

not sure what you want...33 degrees is still way below normal for this time of year. We have had plenty of cold this winter. You know that. The issue is we cant combine the precip and the cold so maybe thats the climate change normal. Cold and precip cant exist together in the Mid Atlantic

There is some truth to this (can't combine qpf and cold).  Think about it...the EPO is the biggest tele for cold, but has absolutely not statistically significant correlation to significant snowstorms.  Why?  Because very cold patters are often dry!  Think about how rare snowstorms are with temps below 20 degrees!  I can remember all of them...because there aren't that many!  Most of our snow comes near or just below freezing because historically our best snowfall patterns were split flow regimes where the northern stream was out the damn way but that also means no arctic air!  A ton of our snow had to work with marginal home grown typical winter air not arctic air.  If we are only cold enough to snow in true arctic airmasses we lose all those storms.  We haven't lost them all yet...but we are losing quite a few which is why DC's average snowfall has gone from 25" to 14" in the last 100 years!

I've got a piano recital on Tuesday, I'm gonna do Chopin Op. 28 No 4.  Hoping to be snowed in instead.

Ahhhh the E Minor Prelude  I forgot you said you played! (How long?) Awesome piece. Fun fact: That piece inspired some of the first bossa nova artists! You can hear it in the chord progression!

Side note: I'd LOVE for something to free me from jury duty on Tuesday, lol

@IronTy and @Maestrobjwa, do you both play piano? Anything the public can attend?

Yes--I am a professional musician! And funny you mention it...I am going to be accompanying a singer for a black history program she's headlining next Friday evening at the church next to the Senator theater--and I'll be performing a couple solo pieces as well! One by Baltimore's own ragtime/jazz legend Eubie Blake

Two years ago I didn't even know how to read music and now I'd say I'm an advanced-beginner or just barely intermediate.  It's a deceptively challenging piece for sure.  I do have one advantage in that I went through a period of about five years of severe depression so I've definitely lived the piece!  And I do seem to have an abnormal ability to memorize a piece which of course helps.
