20z and 21 show another convection band right over us!

.

yeah, looks like this is going to be our "right place at the right time" storm, happens every 10 to 15 years or so.  We may be in the Georgia sweet spot....I've already got close to 4 inches over here off Braselton Hwy & Hamilton Mill Rd.

South Hall into Gwinnett and Barrow has really been the sweet spot this morning. Near downtown Gainesville with about 3 inches now

Based on this chart…I mean… the Dr could be right. It’s not “over”?

is there any positivity? Do you really think there will be a gap the ENTIRE time? WRAL is scared to say, but now and then show their futurecast filling in.

I believe there is time. Just look at the radar now to the SW! Storm still coming together. Keeping fingers crossed!

A long time ago on EasternUSWX, a guy named RaleighWX (I believe) was a meteorology student (or professor) and studied each NC snowstorm. He made a composite of various maps from different times that Raleigh got a snowstorm. I wonder if anybody remembers that. I think he even programmed a model web site for.. EasternUSWX?

We’re at 3” here in Winder so far. Another 1-2” likely by 5pm. 20z and 21z shows another convection band coming our way. This is definitely a low probability storm in terms of heavy snow for us.

Pretty sure that’s Allan Huffman.

We'll see! Each time it looks like radar may dry up a bit, it fills back in for us

kind of looks like a little supercell of snow making landfall at the Outer Banks (no lightning). Already northerly wind gusts to 35-36mph at Cape Fear/Morehead City and 40mph at Piney Island

You are correct sir. I’m on the west end of Bogue Banks and it’s been epic. Sleet mixing in now

Well done lilj. You’ve earned yourself the honor of having to start all future winter storm threads. Still have several hours of snow ahead too it appears

Give the man a red tag...heck, give him a gold tag!!!...and add him to the Southeast hall of fame!!!
