Unfortunately Erie is almost completely frozen over now (went from less than 10% a week ago to about 90% now, a record for the rapid onset of ice). OTOH, it's very new ice, so it'll be thin and allow some moisture to get through. Sorry, I forgot to respond last night…I don’t think it’s the greatest upslope setup with the departing storm track but certainly will have snow showers on Monday.

Impulse control, frontal cortex and all that jazz. You're doing universes better than I ever was at your age, and I bet a lot of posters would back me on that. bncho
34 minutes ago, SnowenOutThere said: @bncho @Maestrobjwa @baltosquid @flanvil Hi guys! I made a video going over some basic atmospheric principles from Atmospheric thickness/geopotential height to divergence/convergence aloft based on super/sub geostrophic wind balance. Hopefully it can help out some people trying to learn more about this storm/atmospheric setups! I do apologize as I haven't done anything like this before so its a bit rough but hopefully helpful regardless. Let me know if anyone wants a video applying these topics to a real world example. I watched this at 1.3x speed and I will say it was one of the best, most productive 25 minutes I've ever spent. Thank you SO MUCH for making this video, I really appreciate it! I might post this on my Twitter account if that's okay with you. People need to learn about this!

LordBaltimore
I'm coming around to this event. It's not a big dawg. It's not a cold powder blizzard. But it is a good old fashioned deep winter beat down. Even the best 15+ ratio storms get depressing the next day when they compact. This nasty, sleet hardened mf will be looking the same on Feb 5th that it does early Monday morning just with some extra soot and maybe a few more snowfalls on top
