You had the last gasp of the extreme warmth that had been over the Ohio valley up to the early stages of the winter storm that developed over PA. I think Latrobe PA also maxed at around 57 F during the day. As you know it was well above 60 F in KY and parts of s IN-IL for a couple of days leading up to the Boxing Day storm in the northeast. That warmth is going to make one last run eastward on Monday before being suppressed further south. I would expect some parts of the MA to max out in low 60s by Monday afternoon-evening before falling into the high 20s and low 30s on Tuesday.

I spent the afternoon tuning up my generator to assure it will stay on at DCL.

Gusts 55+ for several hours - best to be prepared for power outages with that. Shows another 6-8”+ this week after tomorrow’s event too.

The last two were sunny and rainy. Further north, looks like a long duration lake effect event east of Ontario. Think I'm heading up there Tuesday after work, trying to split the uprights between bands. GFS paints around 80" totals for the week. Likely overdone but this is a potent front with decent anafrontal moisture so if a band can stay stationary for a period of time, crazier things have happened. It'll be my first chase of the season and I'm just itching to get up there.
Roger Smith
69F at CHW and 73F at HTS in approaching warm sector. Seems likely to peak in low and possibly mid 60s around 0900 EST in MA with squall line potential around 0900-1100h. Could be a brief TRW during fropa. 1

LOL, meanwhile I'm sitting at 39.1/37.0 at 8:30 pm (and KROA and KBCB sitting at 45) after a 46.2 high, that'll likely get beat later tonight. Been a crazy past few days, nights warmer than daylight hours, temps falling all afternoon after a early morning high, temps stuck around 40 all day then 55 overnight..... Winds blowing 30-50 mph from all directions within 24 hours, and more gusty winds forecast for tomorrow and Tuesday with a high wind warning.

Yep, the wind sounds like a freight train…highest gust I’ve had is 60. Down to 39 and steadily dropping. I think we’re locked in for 8-12”+ this week…enjoy the chase!
