Record low temp of 5° at Detroit this morning, beating the old recordcof 6° from 1974. The DTW sensor seems to not be recording intra hour min/max, so i wonder if it may have dropped even lower.

Impressive.  Was expecting to crash towards -10 in the evening, but the southerlies arrived a few hours ahead of what models had been showing. Only made it down to +1.

low temps in my area included a -2 (tied a record) at Toledo and -3 (record) at Fort Wayne

Clear blue skies this morning. -sd/sd's around the area with some -10's around I-Falls. Nice to have the Sun shining. Lots of cloudy days in the Winter. Reflected light really brightens things up (almost too much sometimes).

Morning low of 1F. Couldn’t quite get below zero with the light snow and clouds lingering around into the overnight hours.

I understand it's the CFS on tropical tidbits, but this is the 1st time it's shown below normal anomalies every week for the next 6.  Doesn't appear like this cold is going anywhere soon.  Just need the cold centered west of us if we want anything significant.  Need the NAO to go slightly negative if you're looking for anything like '13-'14, otherwise it's a repeat of last year but with the snow centered ~3 hundred miles north and about a month earlier..

Multiple record lows were set this day, but one of the more impressive was Flint which smashed their record low ot 6 with -3.

Cold morning with -sd's along the shore and -10's inland with some -20's. Heavy sea smoke. Looking forward to some snow action starting tomorrow.

If this turns into glacier, its not going anywhere fast. Especially with indications of subsequent dusters/clippers following behind.

The upcoming week is garbage. Get ready to have bare ground when the "Arctic" blast occurs next weekend.

Also got down to -5 here. NWS reported a wind chill of -13 which my brief walk outside confirmed. Nasty cold.

1 here right now, still looking for our 1st below 0 low. got about 15 minutes to get it, until the sun is really up.

Had my coldest temp so far at -21C/-7F in morning, far colder than forecast which was -18C. Various stations around me had ~-24C. I can't harken the last time I got below -20C before Dec 10 but my guess is since the nastiest winter of my lifetime '13.

-sd's/10's this morning with sd's along the shore. Looks like 24-36hrs of light/mod snow my way. 6-8" total accum forecasted for TH.

Early data in for Nov showing a near avg month (on the + side). Fall was very warm. 5 & 10 yr charts shown respectively.

The first week of December was the 9th coldest on record at Detroit & Toledo, and 10th coldest at Chicago. I didnt check any other cities.

-6 here before temps rose towards daybreak.

The weekend snow brought us to 16.1" already for the season. As they say in baseball, keep the line moving.

The clipper pattern is funny. It’s not usually much from an individual storm but they can be so frequent that they add up quick. I bet I got 2-3” today from random a random clipper this morning and a stronger narrow band of snow tonight. Then there is the hybrid one tomorrow that we somehow got a winter storm warning for. Still not convinced that’ll verify.

Wasn’t expecting much this evening but that narrow band delivered. Picked up a quick inch at my house. No idea what to expect tomorrow. The hi-res models are way north, but none of them  handled what happened today well.  The EC-AIFS has been steadfast on nailing the metro for days and the other globals caved that way. It’s done well in this pattern so there’s that to consider too.
