-5 this morning here.  First subzero of the season.

-4F here. Maybe we’ll drop another degree or two. Bit of an underwhelming cold snap, our average first subzero low is December 10th so it did arrive early this year.

Got down to -8º here, with some -teens across northern Iowa.

Models are amping up the weekend clipper.  The latest Euro is fairly robust.

-7 at the house. Got a -14 on the car thermometer at the local low spot. Winter is here, glad it matches the time of year I’m most excited for it

decent trends on this one, these nw flow waves can flip flop either way so it's nice to see this one picking up some steam again

looks like 2-3 more in the pipeline, so any overlap areas could add nicely to their totals before temps look to become more problematic mid month

We have the good karma going this year, I predict this one doesn't crap until MI

Until we get the mean trough to set up just up just to our west, we will have a repeat of last year....CAD with dusters here and there, always on the verge of a warm up.  Hope that thing can dump just to our west but we need the PNA to cooperate.

Chicago snow futility is already off the table for this season and it's only Dec. 4th. It just won't be the same here this winter without that thread. lol

BRRR! -10's with a couple -20's this morning. -sd's along the shoreline. -5 here in town (ranked 4th coldest). Dark over the lake with heavy sea smoke. Radar picking up an LES band over the water. BTW, the Sun just made it over the sea smoke. Takes a couple hrs after sunrise.

Also got down to -8 here in Grinnell. Snowpack helps. Like the trends for the clipper.

only got down to 14 here, but winds stayed between 6-10mph all night. yesterday's freezing rain/drizzle event left a nice coating of ice on the roads and sidewalks, and the snow now has a nice crust of ice on it as well.

yea this cold with no legit snow is worst case scenario.
