Ya…that’s just called bad fortune imo. He is speaking of the faster flow in general, which has interfered with phasing attempts and sustained PNA ridges...this promotes predominately inland and suppressed tracks. I def. think there is also some bad luck involved...but a bit of both IMO. Perfect shit storm.

But it really has to be timed right. I know I went out on a limb with the mid-month call, but I still think something should pop in that timeframe prior to any warm up. I'm not talking about a blizzard...just a plowable event for a good portion of the area.

jbenedet
Pretty remarkable differences in look and feel from PSM down to eastern LI. snow blowers and ice melt vs green grass and leaf blowers. Traveling 150 miles looks and feels more like 600. It’s November to the south, early January to the north. For my location, it means winter’s grip, currently, isn’t that strong at all—warm sectors will not be strongly defended against… The referenced map is more than just what the last storm brought. There’s a completely different seasonal vibe north/south of that line.

That AIFS and its ensemble is the weeniest model of all time. Should be taken to the wood shed, that model and its ensembles think we have 2 feet of snow on the ground region wide. ORH_wxman
06z euro was a nice trend for next weekend. Still have that western ridge problem of needing to be a bit more amplitude. There’s time to trend it…really want to see shortwave digging more which is why you want that ridge a little more amped.
