Central Park received 0.44" of rain in the past hour. That breaks the highest hourly figure for December 19th. The old record was 0.32" from 1934.

And run it off right into our wetlands, creeks, rivers and back bays that can’t tolerate salt.

And, now off to chaperone a kindergarten Holiday party as my wife, who volunteered, is down with illness. 

The town of Cranford NJ still had huge leaf piles plowed into the snow.  Hopefully this doesn't cause more flooding than usual...

Judging from the radar, looks like the back edge of the rain should be out of here early this afternoon. Currently 56F.

Winds verified up here. Lost power from about 4AM to 7AM. Schools closed due to a few trees down in town and ongoing power outages. Large diseased ash came down in yard.

If this continues to show up on the models for Tuesday the road departments will begin spreading the salt/liquid ice melter or whatever Monday afternoon and we begin the cycle all over again

For tide stations that overlay prediction forecasts, some appear to be falling short of forecast high tide levels so that's good sign.

I wouldn't be shocked if the models get colder towards the end of this month into January with the NAO and AO dropping especially for the Northeast. Yes the PNA will be negative.

Looking at radar i think the last line of rain is about Baltimore right now. I'm guessing that's the cold front.

what was their low temperature this week so far ? Check out if they have a record temperature spread record for a 1 week period. Right here in Central NJ my low has been 18 this week and now its 58.............

Bridgeport has now received 0.67" of rain today. That breaks its daily precipitation record for December 19 of 0.64" from 1948.

You can clearly see where the cold front is on radar racing east from east of Williamsport PA down through Baltimore MD
