Not much rain here from that storm but with how the winds were blasting can't say many rain gauges got all of it recorded lol.

Also:

All of our climate sites, with the exception of Newark, have either tied or broken daily record highs for the day.

Preliminary observed high temperatures so far...

Central Park: 58°F (ties record of 58°F from 1899 and 1931)

JFK: 57°F (breaks record of 56°F from 1967)

LaGuardia: 58°F (breaks record of 57° from 1957)

 Islip: 59°F (breaks record 55°F from 2017)

Bridgeport: 57°F (ties record of 57°F from 1967)

 Newark: 59°F (current record: 60°F from 1931)

this isn’t like the old days where you went up to 44 with rain. 60F nothing sticking around. We cut nowadays it turns into April

Funny how that works. It's amazing how the warmth is always so dominant and resilient now.

of course there’s nostalgia and Rose colored glasses.

Was there a guarantee of a cutter with 55 to 60 every Christmas week? absolutely not

Was there snow on the ground many more days because the temperature was colder whatever we got and I’m talking in the five boroughs…hell yes

When we went from snow to rain or had a rain on top of snow, was it often in the mid 40s and did we finish with snow cover afterwards? Yes

Drastically different climate, particularly for some odd reason in the last two weeks of December.

I say it every year: if you are a betting man, bet 50 over 30 on xmas day

Yea's its kind of crazy how the holiday warmup is always a lock now. Pattern has been for several years now impressive cold early to mid december, and then a guaranteed 60 degree cutter some time around christmas or new years.

I'll pay you a hundred bucks if central park really gets 1.5" of snow on the ground before christmas.

I doubt that much but saying this month is done is foolish. You have been wrong since December 1. Stop predicting the long range because the models have been horrendous.

Good afternoon everyone. We are monitoring a line of showers currently across eastern PA into western NJ that has widespread 40-50 and some isolated 60mph gusts with it. Based on current trends, it'll be into central NJ after 3pm, NYC by 4pm, and out onto Long Island by 4:30-5pm. Winds this time around are westerly.
