powderfreak
I have an aversion to hyperbole but… this has to be the worst foliage season I can ever remember up here. The leaf drop is crazy fast and the color just never got there. Usually the leaves die spectacularly… this year they just seemed to die. 3

TheClimateChanger
Wow! After coming up just 1F shy of the monthly record yesterday, CAR set a new monthly record today. They had a rough stretch in August when three consecutive days (8/11-8/13) all came up one shy of the monthly record, so this avenges that. They also tied the June (and all-time) monthly record just last year (2024).

Oh 100%… plenty of stuff to do and it still looks like fall foliage. Sounded like Jerry had a good time too and I finally got to put a face to the name after all these years. Normally I fight back when we have the usual discussion of every year the foliage is dull, because even lackluster is quite nice. But I’ve never seen it quite like this. Very dry. Multiple frosts and freezes. Now two days of mid-80s. The vegetation is just giving up; try again next year lol.

It’s still a nice fall, harvesty vibe, but I’ve never seen this much dull leaf drop this early.

I went west and down I 91. Very little color. Franconia Notch had some good color the weekend before this past one. Meanwhile, your heading to the Outer Banks this weekend. GFS now has a 988mb low sitting just off the coast. Could be some tough going down there with flooding. More houses into the ocean?
