Although the DP still in upper 60's, what a wonderful relief with the W/NW 10-20 mph breezes. Hit 84.8 earlier this afternoon, currently 81.7/68.3 with mostly cloudy skies.

Got to 90 here late in afternoon. A bit surprised, didn’t think this morning I’d get there. Still 81 here now at 9:30pm  

But was outside mowing, working etc earlier from 12-2pm and I found it to be awful. Sweating profusely.  The grass got unusually high … unusually quickly … in the past week.

For second day in a row, JUST missed a 'warm minimum' for the date. 69.2 low, record is 69.9 from 2015. Currently 70.2/69.4 at 8 am with cloudy skies.

From a 8th floor balcony in OC, I've seen anvil tops for a storm as far west as Frostburg.  I was pretty shocked how far away it was.

A few days ago the models had the front clearing the area late Sunday. Its going to be mid to late day, so delayed not denied. Dews will drop this afternoon, and tomorrow will be the nicest day. But yeah it will be short lived as the HP slides southeastward into the western Atlantic. Southerly flow on the backside- we know what that means, esp with the anomalously warm water off the east coast.

Ensemble guidance is still advertising a shift in the longwave pattern with the upper ridge retrograding into the central/western US for the end of the month into August. That should at least give us some drier air if not notably less hot. That pattern could also put our area in a position for mesoscale convective systems that develop on the periphery of the ridge and drop southeastward.

It was like that here too, but sun broke out in the last 30 mins. Still pretty humid but not awful. 80/66

Dews should lower through the afternoon with a breeze out of the north. This evening should feel fantastic. Tomorrow is going to be about the best weather we get in this area in late July, and Wed should also be very nice.
