Positive thought as we head into a blistering hot and dry period- Shorter days ahead as we work our way back towards winter. Can't wait for Fall and football. Happy solar noon on solstice day! 2
Eskimo Joe
The short term model guidance is pretty toasty for early next week, especially the overnight lows.

wxdude64
LOL, clouds have moved in, and it looks like a shower could fall any minute, dropped temp to 77.6/58.5. High was about 30 minutes ago at 81.1. Although warm, I'm definitely liking the lower dew points!

Temp down to 74.3/59.0.

wxdude64
And the sun is breaking back out, just a light shower. Sorta felt (and looks on radar/satellite) like a winter snow flurry/shower. It MIGHT have touched 0.01 in the gauge, I'll check later. Temp 'bottomed out' at 73.0, which is current. More clouds forming out to the W and NW in WV, so it may sprinkle or light shower again later.

CAPE
Forecast high of 98 here on Monday. I'll take the under. 98 is the highest temp I have ever recorded here, and it was once or twice. It will end up 95-96 maybe.

George BM
Just past 10:42pm. The sun has gotten as far north from the equator as it will ever be this year over the western Pacific Ocean! @CAPE Your worry about your lawn being incinerated will soon be on borrowed time as the solar noon sun angle eventually lowers behind your trees. Hot summer weather lovers rejoice for your time of celebration has come! Cold weather lovers you all rejoice as well for the days will get shorter with the sun angle lowering from here on out until the winter solstice, ensuring that the heat and humid will also eventually abate. 4

Unfortunately that process has already begun. It's inevitable. I'm going to try white clover and wildflowers in that area for next year. Everywhere else is pretty much mossed over. In the Spring I planted a patch of wildflowers in the back along the edge of the woods and they are doing pretty well.
