bluewave
Maybe graupel or small hail later today as we get some surface based CAPE. So gusty squall-like convection possible later today with gusts over 40 mph. Then we have a shot at 50-60 mph gusts tomorrow with the very steep lapse rates and increasing LLJ allowing deep mixing.

This summer will be one for the record books I think. Already a hot start all over the globe and the transition to a Nina means very hot summer likely. Probably extremely active too

batmansascientist
I know it's only a 9 day start (and it would require temps to stay above 40 degrees in central park for it to be a record for 10 days). But for first 9 days of March, record for temp (48.5 vs. 48.2) and precipitation(4.54 vs. 3.65).

Don, I respect your integrity but the first pic is suspect. Are you sure that was taken today? You know I’m a horticulturalist at Columbia and a huge climate change backer but that pic seems off. We are barely cracking buds on the earliest flowering trees here. And maybe a few daffodils… 1
