You must be high up off 132. What a weenie spot.

I moved from Woodbury to a horse farm just over the border in Bethlehem on Hard Hill Rd 3 years ago.  I can drive a mile down the hill and the winds will be 10mph while theyre gusting to 30 here.  Totally open property in all directions for a half mile, on a hill.  Backside winds always overperform up here.

Storm is over.   35.2F which is the high for the day.

2" of snow.  Then a couple of hours of sleet before heavy rain.  Peak wind E 36mph

10" of snow left on the ground.  It will freeze into a cement block tonight before light snow falls on top.

Amazing how warm it is just south of me and there is no snow on the ground.

Nice Gene. Down to 6” here. 35° and raining again now. The big pack dropoff is in Canterbury. South of exit 18 there’s just coatings-1” and then south of 17 it’s mostly bare ground. I was down in CON this afternoon and the car thermo went from 38° here to 45° down there. At least the pawpaws are blanketed, but the driveway is still a sheet of ice.

Damage

There were 600 outages in CT at 9am from the overnight event that were largely repaired by early afternoon.  There are now 1200+, most from the backside winds.  Litchfield, Ridgefield, and East Lyme hardest hit, and building more in Western CT.

The rain runnels in the snowpack are the crazy part.  Rare to see it like this… some Pacific NW stuff.

We had those with the last storm. This time was mostly snow and not much rain so it’s a pretty standard looking snow cover. But those were kinda cool to see lol

Those that were saying flooding was going to be a problem were definitely correct with this one.  Spent yesterday morning out and about and grabbed some pics.  Lots of closed roads on the NH seacoast and plenty of flooding.  Here's a few noteworthy photos:

Prescott Park and Strawberry Banke Portsmouth NH

The Gundalow at Prescott Park - the water level on the wall is extraordinarily high.

The foreground of the field across from our place has that same pattern - my wife said it looked like a mattress pad.

Tale of 2 messy storms:
        Jan 10   Jan 13
SN     9.0"        3.8"
LE    1.34"      0.66"
RA    0.84"     0.73"
Tot   2.18"      1.39"

Unlike Dec 18, there was little wind in either event.
