There is no panic here. I am just a weary traveler/model reader looking to find a place to plant my flag for the upcoming Vstorm. I am going to get snow from this storm whether I am in Montreal Canada or in Richmond Virginia. It does not matter to me. Its excitement either way. Joy!

YOU want snow.

Head for Mammoth Mountain in Cal. They just got FIVE FEET of fresh pow. Face shots are everywhere. You'll need a snorkel to ski. Or a scuba tank with a regulator. You should see the DRIFTS!

They dont get a window of opportunity there. Not one. THE ENTIRE WINTER is opportunity! SIX MONTHS of wall to wall winter, deep snow and 90 mph blizzards!

They get so damned much snow, and it is so damned COLD, that they actually had patches of snow at high els that made it all the way to late November when the new snow arrived!

This resort makes the Northeast look like the Florida Panhandle!

When I DIE, I want to go to Mammoth Lakes. It's pure HEAVEN!

Could be a green spring at least. Hopefully, we don’t have a repeat of wildfire smoke. I could certainly do without that.

Current drought conditions - agriculture.canada.ca

Western and Central Canada still look dry. At least Eastern looks good. I forget where most of the fires happened last year.

So when does the 2010 pattern kick in again? By this time in 2010 I had over 50” of snow. This year I’ve had three glorified cartoppers and a week’s worth of cold.

The sad thing is, ultra favorable periods are the only ones producing.. This will be our 3rd round of strong -NAO.  Anything without a -NAO/+PNA in place may finish the year "0".

I could picture February getting punted, but I’m getting a sneaky system in March vibe.

@Steve25

Its not looking too good for you. You have 6 days left. Doesn't look like the Monday-Tuesday event is going to get it done far ya, and the following weekend storm is iffy at best.

Hopefully you can pull a rabbit out of a hat soon eh?

As for me, I am chasing my snow early next week. I am thinking the poconos is a good spot.

March is going to be special.  It's ripe.  The pattern looks amazing.  All we'll need is -25F departures, heavy rates, and nocturnal storms.

And if not, This amazing pattern has legs well into April.

I hope not lol. I'm so over 40-50 degree weather. I had my week of winter thankfully. I'm ready for blue sky and temps around 70. I rather have that than 3 more months of 40-50
