Thank you!

she royally messed up her right leg/foot. Multiple dislocations and a bad break. Left leg is swollen and bruised too, so more xrays and an mri is needed.

Sorry to hear about your sister.  Sounds bad, but I'm glad it wasn't worse. Car accidents are scary!

I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts.

That’s terrible, but glad that it isn’t a head or chest injury.  As others said, positive thoughts your way.

Let me know if you need me to step in and moderate these fools. :gun:

Since people are posting snow pics, this one is from Feb 3 2014

my kid is not that little anymore :weep:

Totally cute!!  And yeah, they don't stay little forever.  Here's my daughter, from early Feb. 2007 (that really cold Feb!!), she was 3 at the time.  Now she's a junior in high school!!

Thanks.  Oh, and BTW, I didn't see the mention about your sister being in an auto accident until looking back in here a bit more.  So sorry to hear that, and hope all will be OK!

Thank you, she is incredibly lucky that a messed up foot is all she will deal with. 5 fractures and multiple dislocations. Surgery in the morning to relocate bones, then fix fractures if swelling allows it. Otherwise, another surgery after swelling goes down. Long road ahead of her with recovery, but we will help her every learned step of the way. It could have been so much worse!

thank you all for the well wishes and good vibes, appreciate it  will be back downtown tomorrow, yay!

Awww that's a cute snowman.

Also, yikes... back in Feb 2007 (a really fun month BTW) I was a junior in high school, and now the 3 year olds of that time are at that age?? Time is racing.

Yikes.  I had a basic broken ankle and it hurt like the dickens; can't imagine the pain she's in.  Hopefully everything goes well from here on out so that a throbbing foot when there are significant pressure changes is the only long-term issue she'll have.

Meant to say this yesterday and got side tracked with tracking all the snow we are getting.

Sounds like there might be quite a bit of rehab for your sister so I hope things go well. If there is a bright side, things could have been much worse so thank God they weren't.  Thoughts are with you both.

Thank you! Yes she’s got a long road ahead of her but it could have been so much worse so we are all thankful for that this morning.

That's just it, most of our memorable (legit severe) events are not anticipated nor forecast! ;)

Lol. Zancildae, you KNOW that there is an ENH/MDT risk day in our future this year that will not be as exciting as this morning was for some ANYWHERE in the region.

@Bob Chill Jackson Hole was definitely the right choice.  25" so far...looks like its absolutely dumping on cam right now...4-8" more expected today...with a lull tonight that I hope to use to get into town...then one last wave with 3-6" more expected tomorrow.  Most importantly the temperatures stay cold enough to preserve the powder....highs staying below freezing even at the base through Monday.  Aspen did OK like you said they would...about 8" so far with maybe another 3-6 BUT they will be in the mid to upper 40's over the weekend and so the lower half is likely to get pretty crusty...  Like you said the northern mountains in CO did much better but frankly I have skied the crap out of most of them and wasn't really interested in another trip there.

Yes it happens all the time.  Of course summer severe events, even the so-called "widespread" ones, are quite hit or miss too.  But when you're right under one it can get quite nasty, even scary.  That is for those of us that do possess sanity. ;)

Yea, Aspen isn't favored with NW flow. W or SW is money for the central rockies. Abasin added another 6" to the 14" at 5am so sitting at 20" and is expecting another foot. My buddy is sending me texts every couple hours... in a very antagonizing but funny way. lol. JH will be money though. HUGE base mid and upper mountain with massive new snow. Hope you brought a snorkel.
