CoalCityWxMan
4-5” of rain for a good chunk of central IL. Could be more of a flooding threat than anything at this point lol

Thundersnow12
987mb from about Mendota/DKB to over/just NW of ORD Saturday night
geddyweather
Big time QPF moves into Central IL this run as well as into the MS Valley which is an area that really never *needs* an event like this. Also looking at some decent wind potential on the Lakes and SE side of the SLP if it winds up to sub-990mb.

sbnwx85
3.3 inches of rain in 24 hours in January would have to be some kind of a record in South Bend, right? At least there's no snow pack so that should mitigate flooding concerns.

Hoosier
Bump troll later but in my humble opinion, the 12z Euro is about the northwestern limit for this system. It closes off and takes on a substantial negative tilt to get this track. There is also an upstream kicker so I'm not sure how much farther northwest it can go.

Thundersnow12
There is our system. Hard to believe we won't see some waffling as models aren't going to handle some low amp streamer wave running through the GOM between tonight and tomorrow all that well. I know some in here love the hail mary day 6 calls but..... 1
Hoosier
2 minutes ago, Chicago Storm said: Some of the GEFS are further NW. Yeah, but they are kind of inferior. Just saying. If I had to bet on whether the Euro would shift north or south of the 12z on future runs, I'd probably lean south. I'll admit some seasonal bias could be affecting my thoughts as well.
