John Carlson with 2 goals through the first period.  What a year he’s having.

What a period! The only torch in December I see is Carlson. Straight fire!!

lol i have totally different desires in December and they are very low...just enough snow/ice to cover the grass and snow on the christmas lights with cardinals flying and stuff. So yea..1-3 would be great....just want a brief live hallmark movie scene

[Appreciation] IS Luhan trying to flirt with IVY ...

This coming from someone who normally has winter canceled by now.

Overnight chatter has me starting to get giddy about the next 7-10 days. Really need some thing to give us all cheer at home, been a rough couple weeks for us.

Just my opinion but the absolute worst winter pattern is ice cold and dry then it gets mild when the inevitable cutter hits and then cold right after. Not a fan- I’d rather just have warm weather the whole time.

I actually like the weather we have had for the last month. Persistently chilly, no brutal cold, but not warm either. Not a snow pattern, and pretty close to a shutout in reality(esp for the coastal plain) yet it feels like it should for this time of year. I would honestly take this for the rest of the winter vs. a torchy pattern.

Yeah the weather this past month has been quite enjoyable. Very refreshing

Not often I can say I golfed 18 holes right after, and no more then 15 minutes from the location of a record tying "snowstorm'"

The December CanSIPS is out, and it's telling Ji he should cancel winter.

Basically every month for the next year is AN temps except April which is BN. Love me a CanSips mild torchy winter and cold rainy April lol. Maybe our big snow is early April this year. It's like taking the over in a football game....you're never really out of it until the bitter end.

That’s a great analogy.

Agree except for the last few days when the temp has basically been stuck between 35-45. Boring. I need something below freezing.

Or 60. There’s nothing fun about this weather.

You guys like that new band?  December 2019 and the Trailing Waves. Heard they are touring the East Coast this month.

I find them much more pleasing to the ears and eyes than that 'ol Scorched and Torched group.

I've been at way too many of their concerts lately.

FRD had a depressing post about the AO in the main thread.  Maybe this is what many of the seasonals were picking up on with their warm December predictions?  So far the eastern CONUS has been dodging the worst of the consequences.  Never good to live on the edge of the cliff though.

Edit: Actually, sometimes it can be good to be on the cold side of the rain-to-snow transition line.  Always nerve-racking though.
