Big New England heat 7/19-21

Recommended Posts

Models are showing some run to run noise but it sure looks like major heat and humidity are due the weekend of 7/19.  Enjoy!

Looking forward to the much cooler weather that follows this heat wave.

While it is unlikely it will be this hot again, the break seems short lived

I’m down for a big heat visit. After that all my focus will be on tropical and football.

August may be a long month  ;)

The record in Boston for Saturday is 99 ...

With the ASOS running a bit warm, there's a solid chance it gets "set".

Yeah... but I wonder if A, that's true - not to discredit or impugn anyone, but it doesn't seem like anyone's taking that seriously.  Well I guess just A -

Where was it written or proven it’s running warm?

Sometimes you just need to look deeper.

Who will be enjoying the weekend heat minus A/C?

Haven’t decided yet... it’s ready to go, maybe first AC run of the season?

This is about as hot as a zone forecast gets for us:

Saturday...Partly sunny. Hot with highs in the lower 90s. West winds around 10 mph. Heat index values up to 100.

Can you explain that chart and exactly how and where it shows it’s too warm at BDL?

The disco was for BOS

See where it jumps down to negatives?  That means it’s registering too warm compared to other stations around there.  The expected temperature is lower (negative) from what BOS is showing.

Do you have the BDL chart

Back to 11. A little torchier in 14-15 and then back to their normal self. Now starting to drift again a bit?

Tan put some interesting comments out ...  One of the top CIPS is  apparently July 22 2011.

I can think of one difference though… There's no cold front at 7 PM to rescue the region Saturday night.  That's going to be really interesting to monitor… I really think elevated min records are also at risk

two consecutive days of high heat warnings
