They say it was really shallow so maybe that's why we felt it so much . I'd describe it as something really heavy falling and a very loud explosion type of sound

They say it was really shallow so maybe that's why we felt it so much . I'd describe it as something really heavy falling and a very loud explosion type of sound Yeah, Lonnie Quinn explained that it was very shallow, and that's why we felt it so strong. CPcantmeasuresnow
Hoping for a quick warm up ala a few years back when we were in the 70s by mid March That's just sick. I believe you're referring to March 2012. We had several days in the 70's that March but nothing like what happened in the midwest. Chicago had 8 days in a 9 day stretch, of over 80 degrees that March, the other day it hit 78, Their March ended up 15.6 degrees above normal, similar to the December we just endured. Their March actually ended up warmer by 1-2 degrees than their April.
forkyfork
it's actually rare to hear a booming sound from an earthquake. you're lucky

Their trees started blooming during the month 6 weeks early.

Rjay
Well Bloomingdale is basically my back yard and i see they even lowered and still it was felt And the depth is deeper. This makes even less sense now. Now I'm not even sure it was an earthquake lol. I honestly don't know. I'll await some facts that probably won't come out until tomorrow. CPcantmeasuresnow
You and I both. March 2012 was a freak event. You can't rely on that kind of warmth in March, if it happens it's just a tease, what's the point.
